Working on my Jellyfin macOS client.
It has a few unique features. Check out the seekbar: the dots mark key sections of the song, like verses, choruses, and other important parts.
I can't use music apps without it now, it feels like I'm blind.

How incompetent is #Disney to not even be able to achieve such a basic migration task of carrying over watch history I was even able to do so when migrating from #Plex to #Jellyfin, 2 different platforms that have nothing to do w each other lmao. This is a case of laziness, innit.

I want to like the new release of #Jellyfin, which was thoroughly tested and is better than the old version in every way, EXCEPT it changed the position of one button that I always use and maybe now I need to give up on computers entirely.

Tried upgrading Jellyfin again this evening as the new 12.1 update has just been released.
This time round it was a successful upgrade from 10.11.11, no database errors during the migration, and library scan had no issues either.
Patience is indeed a virtue, or at least it is when it comes to homelabs.

So, here’s my plan for getting some control back over my data from big tech. More to come , but I want to jot my ideas down before I forget!
The first step is to block as much advertising as possible. I hate being tracked and correlated with people I know, seeing their ads. I already use #pfsense and #pfblockerng - so will filter that and use VPN across devices to route via home.
The next step is to lock down my devices to stop tracking bloody everything. Should be an easy fix - remove unwanted apps, stop things like access to GPS and sensors unless using the apps.
Once the basics have been sorted, next step will be looking at media hosting. #synology and #jellyfin are probs going to be key players
Finally point for today, will need to move away from various Google services in the home automation space. Smart speakers, nest cameras and heating are probs going to go. Will also look at replacing apps that NEED the cloud - looking at you #phillipshue
