#Jellyfin upgrade to v12* on #yunohost had to be the best JF upgrade experience I've ever had out of the last few major releases. I recently spun up ynh as I move away from windows and managing some home lab stuff on Debian as I need a smoother self-hosting setup with my Parkinson's plus. Migrating my homelab to Proxmox, too.

Just published v1.2.0 of my KOReader Jellyfin Plugin.
It features an overhauled interface, sorting and filtering, progress syncing, configurable download location, display of book details, improved error messages, and many bug fixes.
Much of this is possible thanks to the brilliant new features introduced in Jellyfin v12.0.

Hey #Jellyfin users, just wanted to share something I just found. You can use animated gifs as pictures and they're still animated on the platform. Have a good day.

I wanted to use my #Jellyfin server for audiobooks, but failed in terms that it not seem to be capable of tracking progress, even after converting to m4b. Maybe it's just a skill issue, if so, please enlighten me.
However I found a great offline audiobook app, that is FOSS and even has features like. Character list, sleeping mode and more

Plasma bigscreen has serious potential, before I try it again I'd like to see:
Standalone spin from the likes of #fedora or #bazzite without the desktop stuff
Better #kdeconnect integration
10ft ui support in native apps( #jellyfin #stremio #freetube ) so, I don't have to think about Waydroid unless for some edge case
Really good Waydroid integration for edge cases
Plasma bigscreen is so close to being that truly open platform we want, instead of the #AndroidTV shit we get served instead.

Amusing. I wrestled and wrestled several evenings this week and finally got #ente installed #selfhosted. Much like #JellyFin before it, as soon as I got working with it I disliked it. I"m going to shut it down and try #immich.
The two deal breakers for me were:
- No tags. Ente literally doesn't let you tag photos. It has facial recognition and "favourites." But no tags.
- No hierarchy. I don't understand how someone puts 60,000 photos into a series of albums that have no hierarchy. No folders, no nested albums. Just a straight, flat topology of albums.
JellyFin was like that with video. No way to organize MY way. Only their way or the highway.
