So... are we all just blasting away at MusicBrainz database as we re-scan our Audio Libraries in Jellyfin 12?

After the Jellyfin 12.0 release earlier today, I've now also released the first beta of #jellyfin for Android TV version 0.20.
The timing was a bit of a coincidence. The releases would've been near each other from the start, but I never intended it to be on the same day 😆.
This first beta is **not** available on our Google Play beta track. That will happen starting with the next beta release.
⬇️ Get the APK file for manual installing from GitHub: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/releases/tag/v0.20.0-beta.1

TIL about Silo as an alternative to #Jellyfin and #Plex written in #golang with a gRPC interface for plugins:
https://siloserver.org/Does anybody have experience with it? It claims to have a Jellyfin compatible API.

Spent a little time updating #Jellyfin to 12.0, and it was pleasantly uneventful. :jellyfin:
Thanks to all the devs that worked on this release!

#jellyfin is out with a new release and people are getting pretty excited about upgrading to it.
If you'd rather not be an early adopter on an #ai #llm project, let other people upgrade and deal with issues if your server is working okay.
I really wish people were clamoring to fork Jellyfin, but it currently seems very unlikely. General PSA for the #noai crowd.

@jellyfin Grateful for your hard work. However, the macOS version appears to be "dev" (JellyfinDesktop-2.0.0-dev-x86_64) and crashes upon opening. This happens as soon as I "open anyway".
I'm on Monterey (12.7.6).

🚀 Release notes for 12.0
Notes on Updating
Before upgrading from an earlier version, a full backup of the data directory is strongly recommended, as this release includes database changes that prevent rolling back without a full restore.
Direct upgrades from 10.10.7 and 10.11.x to 12.0 are supported; intermediate upg…Dig into this release → https://selfhost.directory/project/jellyfin#update-15157022

It’s been about a month since I have posted about my #shenanigans with setting up a gaming pc for the living room.
After some setbacks and what not, I think I have found the closet to my ideal software set up: #Fedora + #kdeplasma #BigScreen
Once the pc is on, I can pretty much handle everything from a controller.
Currently I have installed #Steam, #Luna, Itch.io, Epilogue’s Playback, #RetroDECK, and #Jellyfin; all are running great. -

I’m a happy user of #jellyfin. If you’re still stuck on Plex, give Jellyfin a try!

Any folks on here who use #Jellyfin (server?) on #masOS? I’m trying to figure of it I can do certain things with it, but the range of implementations is so varied that I can’t build a mental model of how its working, and so cant make the leap to following tutorials.
I need the basic paradigmatic discussion for it.

After a month of testing I can say that this player is the best I've ever found for self hosted servers such as navidrome and jellyfin (it also has plex but I have abandoned). On the site reports that there is also a linux desktop version but not yet tested. That will be my paradise for self hosted music 🥹
