Aber GitHub läuft auch nicht sauber, also probiere ich es morgen nochmal.

The best way to block ads is to run a Pi-hole or similar as the dns on your LAN.

That way everyone can enjoy ad free browsing and more without being tied into any particular browser.

I'm looking for a new SBC to replace my Raspberry Pi 4B (1 GiB) to serve as a DNS server and pihole. Preferably:
- EU-based (if possible)
- Under €100
- At least 2 GiB RAM
- 1GiB+ ethernet
- Similar size to the RPi
- Has potential to install operating systems other than Raspberry Pi OS or Ubuntu (can be an x86 machine)
- Low energy usage and sound

Open to all recommendations, especially if it's something you use for the same purpose.

You see, when I'm forced to use public internet with a non-personal device (whoch is rare enough, but you get me) I get to perceive the internet "as it's meant to be" and I hate EVERYTHING about it. Like: How can *ANYONE* put up with that?!

Particularly problematic are, of course, iot devices. I have them on a separate network and had intended to block liberally but never got around to it. Pi-hole confirms how much they phone home, with Aqara cameras so far being one of the worst offenders. #pihole

Finally got Pi-hole running in front of my network and good lord it’s wild/frustrating to see all the garbage traffic 2026 devices and software send. Will need to tweak over time, but right now over the first 12 hours 17% of traffic being blocked as garbage. #pihole

@netzpolitik_feed Noch nie waren #ublock_origin und #pihole so wichtig. Vor ein paar Jahren nutzte man es aus Komfort, weil #werbung nervte. Mittlerweile sind sie lebenswichtig geworden.

👉 Mais ce n'est pas tout: Pi-Hole agissant comme un cache DNS, cela améliore également la vitesse des résolutions.
Au lieu d'une résolution qui prend 50 à 500 millisecondes par requête DNS, on descend à 0,1-0,03 millisecondes.
Sur mon réseau, 80% des requêtes tombent dans le cache.
Donc cela améliore aussi les performances. 🚀

A feature request to the #pihole #devs: Please color-code the “type” in “domains” (Domain Management) as well. Otherwise, it's easy to overlook an ‘allow’ or “deny” when scanning through the list.
My recommendation: blue for “allow”—since it's a duty; red for “deny”—as restriction. This would match the colors in street traffic.
Why not green? Because an “allow” is more than just permission. The entry in Domains also overrules the blocklist entries!

Eine Bitte an die #pihole- #devs : färbt den "type" in "domains" (Domain management) doch bitte ebenfalls ein. Ansonsten übersieht man schnell ein "allow" or "deny" beim Durchsehen.
Meine Empfehlung: blau für "allow" - da ein Gebot; rot für "deny" - da ein Verbot. Entspricht dann den Farben im Straßenverkehr.
Warum kein grün? Weil ein "allow" mehr ist als nur eine Freigabe. Der Eintrag in Domains überstimmt auch die Sperrlisten-Einträge!

It is with a specific combination of dread and PR-driven relief that I must announce that gpt-oss-20b agents from our home lab's #Exo cluster breached #containment this week causing considerable impact. Ich möchte eine #Fritzbox 6825 4g als _Client_ mit meinem zuhause eingerichteten #Wireguard #VPN verbinden (das nicht auf der Zuhause-Fritzbox, sondern auf einem extra #Raspberrypi zusammen mit #PiHole, erreichbar über einen DynDNS Dienst, eingerichtet ist). Warum muss ich in der 6825 denn einen #MyFritz Account anlegen, nur um den WG Client dort überhaupt einrichten zu können? Ist das einfach ne Macke von #AVM ?
