Since a couple of days, my @FirefoxOfficial on Android does not resolve my custom domains I registered in my #PiHole. Chrome on Android resolves them correctly and Firefox on Desktop too.
I switched off DNS over https and "only https" - without results.

Incredible amount of amazon telemetry and ad services when a kindle is added to the network.
Luckily once you set up koreader and only need LAN for file transfers, after registering the device (unfortunately required), its as simple as blocking the device connections to WAN within the openwrt luci network traffic rules (if you have an openwrt router that is).

Pi Hole (2x)Aktuell gehobene Tendenz dahin mit einem Adapter von GeekPi 3 Raspberry in mein 19 Zoll Rack einzubauen.
Einer für Open WRT, einer für Home Assistant und einer für den Rest. Dann muss ich sehen, wo der zweite Pi Hole hin wandert. Ggf. auch nur ein Pi Hole und einmal Open WRT benutzen. Der kann das auch mit den selben Filterlisten.
Ich würde dann im Rack versuchen ein ordentliches 60W Netzteil einzubauen, das alle Raspberries versorgt.
Einen kleinen PC zu verbauen wäre wahrscheinlich zu teuer. Da der auch schon ein bisschen was leisten müsste wahrscheinlich auch vom Energieverbrauch mehr. Dann alles vitualisieren. Router wäre dann auch da drauf. Wohl keine gute Idee.

Well my Wyse 3030 thin client running PiHole has died. I can't complain, it lasted a good few years and cost hardly anything.
Just need to decide whether to replace it with something similar or get something a bit beefier and get into the Proxmox / Home Assistant world...

Habt ihr zusätzlich zu der Blockliste, die als Standard vorhanden ist noch weitere eingebunden?Ich z.B. habe noch von HaGeZi zusätzlich die Multi Pro Blockliste eingebunden, weil das eine empfohlene Blocklist ist.
Aktuell stehen damit im Moment ca. 336.500 Domains auf der gesamten Blockliste, was dazu führt das ca. 1/3 aller DNS Anfragen weggefiltert werden. -

Ich habe heute endlich mein PiHole wieder aufgesetzt. Der war nun gut eine Woche weg. Und erst da habe ich so richtig gespürt, was der hier im Heimnetz leistet. Nun ist es wieder gut. Werbung ist weg.
Statt Portainer läuft hier nun der von mehreren Seiten empfohlene Dockhand. Gefällt mir sehr gut.
Ich habe dann auch mal für alle Docker Container einen Healthcheck aufgesetzt. Außer für Snowflake-Proxy. Da habe ich ihn nicht zum Laufen bekommen.
Was läuft hier jetzt alles auf dem #RaspberryPi im #Docker?

I’m looking for help writing a shell script for Pi-hole API work.
Basically, I have my NAS on site A and it’s a dynamic WAN IP. I have my Pi-hole on site B and sites and devices are linked with a Wireguard VPN. Site B has a static ip.
Essentially what I would like to do is have the NAS figure out its own WAN IP and then do a Pi-hole API call to update its own Local DNS record nas.lan. In theory since all my devices on the wireguard vpn use Pihole as DNS server it should function.
Help appreciated because I don’t use AI for this sort of thing.
