I am beyond shocked by this writing/ publishing travesty. Why even do it? What a waste of resources. ☹️
And you just know that someone somewhere is making money out of it, selling it to some gullible person: buy our publish-SLOP service & get rich. 😐
Five to ten years ago it was ripped off designs printed on poor quality socks & so on, also mediated thru’ Scamazon (I was creating surface designs for PoD applications & we were all playing whack-a-mole until our publisher got involved; this feels like 1 step further & much harder for any one creator to deal with. Just yesterday I read about some startup running phone-farms to push genAI-created (fake) influencers & and it’s just… I can’t even… how did it…) 😭😩😭

The design-art collective COPODE and I are pleased to announce the launch of the 100% Inhuman Made badges project.

We’re marking it with a post on the LSE Impact Blog titled ‘Nothing is “100% human authored”’:

The project starts from the observation that #generativeAI is unsettling long-standing conventions of #authorship, #ownership and #credit.

Much of the response so far has focused on reaffirming the role of the individual #human #creator. But what if that starting point is part of the problem?

The 100% Inhuman Made badges project explores an alternative: challenging the idea that any work is ever purely human-made, and instead foregrounding the distributed, #collaborative and infrastructural elements involved in producing #knowledge and #culture.

A 100% Inhuman Made badge is thus less a label than an invitation: to rethink what we mean by #creativity, authorship and the human in a world shaped by #climate breakdown and the rapid take-up of #AI.
