My favorite thing about the #ducklings has been their surprising intelligence and comprehension as they grow,
I don't use food bribes for my #waterfowl so everything they say to me or listen to me is of their own accord and interest .
Little sesame was ready to go outside this morning! She says 'QUANCK QUANCK' when she sees we got up for the day
So I tell her, 'sesame! Wait, wait short'
And she goes silent,,, like she has a #snooze alarm! Such a bright&polite #duck -

The Wildlife Success Story of the Summer!
Our sweet duck family!
Dennis and I visited these ducks near our home in a park, starting late June, once or twice a week. A mama and three babies. They love people and we’d sit with them until the babies started getting tired, closing their eyes. Then the mother would quack and the babies would follow her, swimming to the other side of the pond, to the marsh area, to rest/sleep.
Over the July 4 stormy weekend, sadly one of the babies didn’t survive. Now it was just Mama Duck and two babies. Nevertheless they were so sweet. I even have a video of them following me.
Another time we went, something was off. I noticed one of the babies had a hook in her beak. It was around 7:30 in the evening and most places were closed. We called so many places, countless times — animal control, wildlife rehabs. Raptor Trust was kind enough to say that if we could capture the baby, they would take her in and get the hook out. Next step, I called the Mayor of Kenilworth. She loved animals and had some friends come out to try to capture the duck. Even a cop got in the pond with a boat! Her other friend went in with a kayak. No luck. The ducks are fast. They didn’t realize it was help, and were scared.
At this point, the ducks are now stand-offish to people. I didn’t want to go back anymore and see this poor thing with a hook in her beak. I told my husband, “It’s up to God now.”
I prayed, and I got friends to pray. Even friends who don’t believe in praying, prayed in their own way!Yesterday my husband had a gut feeling to go back to the pond after about two or three weeks. We went and the hook is no longer in the duck’s mouth!
Either someone helped, or the duck got the hook out herself! She kept nuzzling her beak under the wing, so maybe she worked it out? I tried contacting the Mayor and didn’t hear back yet. So it’s a mystery as of now.
The good news is, it seems back to normal and the ducks are happy as they could be. Only now, they are a little stand-offish because of all the people who tried to help, but inadvertently frightened them.

We plan to continue to go back a few times a week and check up to them. And, please, let this be a lesson — if you are fishing, PLEASE clean up after yourselves! Do not leave your hooks and fishing line lying around so wildlife can get hurt!
Ducks are sweet, beautiful animals. And they will bond with you when you respect them. -

Duck (2026) by Foko Games for Nintendo Entertainment System.
Two ducks take off per round, but you only have 3 bullets. Miss the pair and they're gone. 5 levels shift from a sunlit forest to a neon urban night, and the allied mode adds a risky twist: hit the wrong-coloured duck and you lose a life. 🦆💥
