From childhood I’ve always loved fireworks, both the visual spectacle and the cacophony of noise that accompanies them. I even buy some from time to time.
That said, I get that they are not universally popular. For organised events I think that drone swarm displays are the future, and if it has to be fireworks, we should ideally be good neighbours and buy the quieter ones.

The Beaver Moon is to be bright tonight and I see the tide is one metre higher in my ususal swim spot than usual, not that I am going swimming tonight but I do like to sea swim and hope to keep it going over the winter, it is cold but also quite refreshing and I think very good for the old circulation. I am normally warm blooded so it is nice to feel normal after the swim gravitating to radiators and hot drinks #fullmoon #beavermoon #swimming #guyfawkes

When developing the story, illustrator David Lloyd made a handwritten note on the intended #anarchist protagonist, V: 'Why don't we portray him as a resurrected Guy Fawkes, complete with one of those papier-mâché masks, in a cape and a conical hat? He'd look really bizarre and it would give #GuyFawkes the image he's deserved all these years. We shouldn't burn the chap every Nov. 5th but celebrate his attempt to blow up Parliament!' Writer Alan Moore commented that, due to Lloyd's idea, 'All of the various fragments in my head suddenly fell into place, united behind the single image of a Guy Fawkes mask.'
