    Abused the Hotpress again to make colorful sheets from shredded 3d prints and leftovers.

    Sheets are approx. 2mm thick and surprisingly tough.

    It also does a decent job on hand-drawn sketches (see pic 2). Still working on concave shapes and internal holes... :clippy:

    For now, only zigzag and parallel infill lines are possible. More exotic patterns will follow soon. 🙂

  11. Лазерная гравировка по ABS-пластику используется часто, но есть нюансы технологии.

    Что происходит с ABS под лазером

    ABS (акрилонитрил-бутадиен-стирол) не столько «гравируется», сколько плавится и вспенивается. Лазер локально нагревает поверхность, из-за чего:

    материал темнеет или светлеет;

    образуется матовая фактура;

    появляется небольшой рельеф.

    Поэтому результат ближе к маркировке, чем к глубокой гравировке.

    Какие лазеры подходят

    Лучше всего работают:

    CO₂-лазер (10.6 µm) — стандарт для пластика

    Диодный лазер — возможно, но хуже контраст

    Волоконный (fiber) — почти не работает по чистому ABS

    Типичная мощность:

    30–60 W CO₂ для промышленной маркировки

    10–20 W для мелких изделий

    Визуальный результат

    Зависит от состава пластика.

    Возможные эффекты:

    светло-серый на чёрном ABS

    тёмный на светлом ABS

    вспененный белый след

    лёгкое углубление

    Лучший контраст дают:

    лазерный ABS (laserable ABS)

    ABS с добавками для маркировки

    Параметры (ориентировочно)

    CO₂-лазер:

    скорость: 300–800 мм/с

    мощность: 10–40%

    DPI: 300–600

    один проход

    Точные значения подбираются тестом.

    Проблемы

    Запах и испарения
    ABS выделяет стирол → нужна вытяжка.

    Оплавление краёв
    Слишком высокая мощность даёт глянец и подтеки.

    Низкий контраст
    Дешёвый ABS иногда почти не меняет цвет.

    Как делают брендинг лучше

    Практические методы:

    использовать двухслойный ABS (engraving plastic)

    делать заливку краской после гравировки

    применять лазерные добавки / masterbatch

    использовать текстурную маркировку

    Где это применяют

    корпуса электроники

    клавиатуры

    промышленные панели

    шильдики

    инструменты

    Когда лучше не лазер

    Иногда лучше:

    тампопечать

    УФ-печать

    литьё с логотипом

    наклейка из поликарбоната

    Если нужно, могу дать:

    точные настройки для конкретного станка,

    как добиться белого контраста на чёрном ABS,

    или как делают брендирование на заводах электроники.
