Legacy VNC Login on macOS Screen Sharing Could Hand Attackers a Root Shell
Researchers found that macOS's Screen Sharing service kept its file-transfer helpers running as root even when a session was authenticated with nothing more than a shared VNC password. Apple has already shipped a fix in macOS Tahoe 26.6 and Sonoma 14.8.8, but any Mac still using legacy VNC authentication remains at risk. -

Just bumped onto an interesting case: What if protocol-relative-URL can not be resolved? The definition (from wiki) is:
> ... [the link] will use the protocol of the current page
But what if there is no page? Like, for example in case of an email?
My Apple Mail client can't (correctly?) potato with those links. The protocol is (correctly?) assumed to be `x-webdoc`.
Or? What am I interpreting wrong here?

Just filed a feedback about the latest #macOS public beta (beta 3?). I'm finding that when I log in after a few hours away from my computer, most (but not all) of my windows get moved and resized. Often to a small square and with some windows barely visible as they are off the side of the display.
This only happened after I upgraded from beta 2. I can't think of any other major change I made at that time. Very odd behaviour.

Been a while since my #Linux PC fucked me up with a hard freeze dat aint resolving due to running out of memory, long while actually considering it’s happened often prior, but it’s happened again today while I’m swamped with lots of work open n happening across weeks. I seriously dk when we could fucking handle these situations better when #macOS could since forever. Can’t we copy their homework or wtv. Absolutely paaaains me in such situations I’ve to bloody hard power off the computer n boot it back up, esp in this day and age where if my SSD dies, I’m dead cos no way I cld buy a new one lol.
