I did a Hackintosh experiment the other day on my Broadwell HP laptop and the process was interesting, and it was fun trying to get it all working, but after 2 hours of using macOS Monterey I was ready to go back to Linux. The way Apple readily drops support for hardware meant I was going to be using an unsupported version of macOS and I could definitely feel it because I was unable to get some of the things I wanted to work, so I didn't keep macOS on there for long because I don't have a use case or a reason to keep it on there when I'm not even in that ecosystem. :bunhdpeek:

The experience though has made me realize how many GNOME features feel similar to or were probably directly inspired by macOS. Extensions, accent colors, how they both used to do versioning (3.xx and 10.xx), mission control and launchpad (which I think GNOME implements better), and much loosely the top bar and dash. Even some of the software about pages looked a lot like some of the ones I see in GNOME GTK3 apps. :bunhdthink:

Trying to get the Dell Inspiron with Windoze 10 to get the ACPI to make it a Hackintosh, not a good experience:

- Running oh so slow.
- No Internet connection.
- Micro$lop wanting me to register my Micro$lop account.
- Can’t enter more than 3 characters in a search in Firefox.

Attempted to install Mac OS X (10.0) on a Wii. Sadly my allocated time for hackerspace visit (K-Space.ee) ended before the installer managed to even start as I had to go home...

Ich dachte, ich könnte ja bei @audiodump einfach mal einen Rewatch ab der ersten Folge machen (ganz untypisch war ich da erst bei Folge 171 eingestiegen) und - krass - das ging ja am Anfang tatsächlich um #Hackintoshe!
