  2. Hands-on with the Anbernic RG 55G1; Anbernic's Snapdragon Gamble

    > Anbernic's first Snapdragon-powered handheld is beautifully designed, comfortable to use and capable, but the G1 Gen 2's weak GPU makes a starting-from $150 price harder to justify.

  3. Anbernic's RG SP is out and shipping at $57.99, with the same Allwinner H700 from 2023 inside. That's not a knock: the GBA SP was a shell product too, and the H700 still runs 8-bit, 16-bit, GB, and PS1 without breaking a sweat. What matters is the hinge and the buttons. pocg.net/news/anbernic-rg-sp-s #RetroGaming #Anbernic #HandheldGaming

  4. Lilbits: Clicks Communicator, another use for the Anbernic RG Rotate, and two tiny operating systems

The Clicks Communicator is a modern smartphone that borrows some ideas from classic BlackBerry phones. Made by the same folks behind the Clicks keyboard cases for existing phones, the company’s first full-fledged phone has a square screen, a QWERTY keyboard, and a customized Android interface.

Clicks began taking pre-orders for the Communicator at the start of the year, and plans to begin […]

  5. The Anbernic RG Rotate is a weird handheld game console with a flip-out controller that hides behind a 3.5 inch, 720 x 720 touchscreen display when you don't need it. This $33 charging dock turns it into a cute little alarm clock. retrododo.com/theres-now-a-doc

  6. Lilbits: The trouble with lifetime subscriptions, Google puts AI everywhere, and the Trump Phone is real?

Once upon a time, Plex was a free app that was a fork of XBMC (Kodi) that you could use as a full-screen media player on a computer, or to stream media over a local network. And you can still use it for those things. But these days Plex also offers ad-supported TV & movie streaming, and subscription services that let you stream your personal media collection over the internet (so you can watch […]

  9. Anbernic RG Rotate now available for $83 and up (handheld game console with flip-out display)

The Anbernic RG Rotate is a handheld game console with mediocre specs that should be good enough for retro gaming, but which may struggle with some newer games. But it’s still an interesting little handheld for two reasons: its flip-out display makes the RG Rotate a very portable option for handheld gaming, and it’s pretty cheap.

Anbernic introduced the handheld earlier this year, and now the […]

  14. Lilbits: Anbernic’s unusual handheld, reMarkable’s next tablet, and SteamOS 3.8

Anbernic is a Chinese company that has made a lot of handheld game consoles over the years. But a short video making the rounds shows an upcoming handheld from the company that’s unlike anything else we’ve seen from Anbernic.

At first it looks like a tiny phone with a small square touchscreen display. But then the person holding it flicks the screen so that it rotates 90 degrees while it […]

  16. I have a spreadsheet where I'm keeping track of various #retroGaming #handhelds and the #opensource firmwares that officially support them. I'm surprised which device is so far out in front of all the others.

    The #TrimUiSmartPro; supported by #batocera #retronix #retropie #recalbox #lakka #arkos #knulli and #crossmixOS. It's not a powerful device, a little faster than the #Anbernic RGXX line, but at just under $100 it could be good for #Dreamcast

  17. Lilbits: Using an eGPU with a Raspberry Pi 5, Android 15 is rolling out for Pixel devices

More than a month after releasing the source code for Android 15, Google is beginning to roll out the latest version of its mobile operating system to Pixel phones and tablets. But many of the new features Google is highlighting aren’t necessarily coming to all Android phones. They’re Pixel-specific apps and services.

Here’s a roundup of recent tech news from around the web.

  18. Anyone out there got an #Anbernic emulation device running DrUm78's #FunkeyOS?

Since updating my #RGNano to the most recent firmware (April 13th) the #GBA emulator now fails to load #Nintendo first-party titles such as Mario, Metroid and Pokemon. Everything else is fine.

I've tried with the official GBA BIOS and the open-source Normmatt one, both fail.

    Any suggestions?

  19. @ktec it seems to work well on the RG353p! I think it may be related to the #ZXSpectrum model chosen in the core. 48k on the #Anbernic and 128k on the #SiDiFPGA
