Another step on the way...

I uninstalled MS Office from the laptop a couple of days ago after checking that all my important files could be handled in #LibreOffice. They can.
This includes Excel spreadsheets that have a load of VBA code. I followed the import instructions (on a couple of LibreOffice help sites) and the resulting file ran the code without any issues (impressive!).

Already moved #OneNote stuff into #Joplin (which I find much easier than OneNote).

It's a modest inconvenience that sorting #OneNote pages disables the ability to make subpages. The subpages were added at different times so without the sort they appear scattered across the page list - I have to find them and move them to make them subpages. #FirstWorldProblems

Nachdem unser Microsoft 365 Familien-Abo mittlerweile abgelaufen ist, ist der händische Transfer von #OneNote zu #Joplin ein wenig nervig (weil ON ständig wegen zu wenig Cloud-Speicher meckert und der Zugriff auf die Web-Version nur lesend möglich ist).
Ich probiere noch mal den direkten Import der ON-Dateien in Joplin auf einem "leeren" System, angeblich ist der Importer in den letzten Versionen deutlich besser geworden.
Drückt die Daumen!

It's way more open than, let's say, #OneNote & so forth. Unfortunately, it's far from being a #textformat that can be reused anywhere without problems. At least I need to convert MD all the time from one flavor to a different.

With more and more #Obsidian add-ons introducing their own syntax elements, you will end up with clear text files you still can't convert for a different tool without modifications. Good luck with finding out which elements are going to survive and which not. For a few files, that seems OK. If you have a decent #PKM like you describe in your awesome #DulyNoted book, it requires more effort.

For everything I need to use with #MD, I keep a syntax file with one example element so that I keep an overview & know what to convert how in case I need to reuse information stored in this MD flavor.

With org, I just push it through #pandoc & I'm done. 🤷

🟣 Wichtiges Update für #OneNote: Viele Nutzer haben sich beschwert, weil sie auf dem #iPad die Reihenfolge der Notizbücher, Abschnitte und Seiten nicht mehr ändern konnten. Das heutige App-Update auf Version 16.106 behebt diesen Fehler.

🏫 Wie kann man #OneNote für die Schulorganisation nutzen? Das wollte eine #Schule in Münster wissen. In meinem Praxis-Workshop haben wir die Notizbuch-Software live ausprobiert und beispielhaft mehrere Prototypen mit verschiedenen Inhalten gefüllt. Das Fazit: Die Mitarbeiter-Notizbücher haben ganz viel Potenzial – wenn das Kollegium vorher bestimmte Vereinbarungen trifft …

Not long ago, and Microsoft Office upgrade broke screen reader's ability to read tags in One Note. For example, if I insert a to do tag with control+1, JAWS doesn't indicate the tag is there at all. This means I can't see if the to do tag is checked or not. I also can't use other tags like "important". This is one of the main reasons I use One Note, and if this doesn't get fixed, I'll need to look for another note taking solution.

Ist das bei euch auch so oder funktioniert bei mir was nicht gescheit? Von #Goodnotes oder #OneNote kenne ich das Problem nicht. Beides nutze ich aber nicht mehr - aus Gründen. Mitlerweilen schreib ich lieber wieder auf Papier. Das kann’s ja nicht sein!

Also - warum ist das so langsam? Lässt sich das lösen?
