Ich habe eben gelernt, dass man die Kalender von iCloud nur nutzen kann, wenn man auch ein Apple-Gerät mit seinem iCloud-Konto verknüpft hat... selbst auf an eine eMail geteilte Kalender kann man nicht zugreifen. Kann man sich nicht bösartig das von Apple ist.

Sollen es nur Bilder sein, ist Nextcloud überdimensioniert, soll es mehr als Bilder können, wäre Immich zu wenig (aber vlt zusätzlich gut)...
Also als Ansatz: Dateien, Kontakte, Kalender, Bilder ohne sehr intensive Nutzung --> Nextcloud, dort bei https://www.wolkesicher.de/ oder https://www.hetzner.com/de/storage/storage-share/ -

Leider hat sich die Arbeit im Alltag nicht bewährt. Man braucht viel Geduld und starke Nerven. Dennoch flutscht es nicht. Resigniert sind wir zurück zur iCloud. 🤷♂️

Mein Vorgehen war:
1. Die Fotos auf eine externe Festplatte exportiert
2. Bilder per immich Go in #Immich importiert https://github.com/simulot/immich-go
3. Die mit mir geteilten Alben über die iPhone-App importiertZum Schluss habe ich alle Alben der #icloud in der IPhone-#Immich-App aktiviert - dabei sind noch mal ein paar Bilder gefunden worden die den Weg noch nicht auf den Server gefunden haben.
Danach mit Deduplication nochmal aufgeräumtNicht elegant - im Urlaub und alles läuft

Habe der LXC 8GB ram und 2 Kerne zugeordnet auf einem Intel N1xx Prozessor mit 4 Kernen ohne Grafikkarte. Alle Gesichter erkannt.
Läuft richtig gut.4 Fotos/ Videos weigern sich beharrlich umzuziehen.

Plenty of bad and annoying things about Apple and iCloud in particular, but one good experience I've always had is if I buy something on the App Store or a subscription or anything through the Apple Store, and then ask for a refund within a few hours or days, they pretty much always refund it in full within 24 hours of the request.
It makes doing things like trying out a bit of software... realizing I don't like it or it doesn't do what I want... and ‘giving it back' much easier.

Apple's "Hide My Email": Useful, but hardly improved
Apple introduced its forwarding service against spam 5 years ago. Unfortunately, you still have to click through half the system to use it.
