I read through this every so often to remind myself why I really do need to stop using Apple products.

Plenty of bad and annoying things about Apple and iCloud in particular, but one good experience I've always had is if I buy something on the App Store or a subscription or anything through the Apple Store, and then ask for a refund within a few hours or days, they pretty much always refund it in full within 24 hours of the request.
It makes doing things like trying out a bit of software... realizing I don't like it or it doesn't do what I want... and ‘giving it back' much easier.

Apple's "Hide My Email": Useful, but hardly improved
Apple introduced its forwarding service against spam 5 years ago. Unfortunately, you still have to click through half the system to use it.
-
Looks like iCloud.com and appleid.apple.com are down; possibly others. Of course Apple's status page shows all green. Sigh.

Apple: "Your backup is safe in our cloud." ☁️
Me: "Can I see what's inside?" 🧐
Apple: "No. Just pay for the 2TB plan." 💸My Arch Linux brain couldn't handle the "trust me bro" logic. That’s why #Keepita exists. No gatekeepers, just your data. 🐧🔓

This is exactly why we call mobile backups a "Black Box"!Apple hides so much metadata and "invisible" storage that users end up paying for iCloud space without knowing why.
That’s the problem we’re solving with #Keepita. We believe you should be able to see EVERY byte inside your backup, from hidden web app data to system files, without the guesswork.
Great catch on the home screen bookmarks!

I’m happily #rendering and #exporting #4k videos with both #iMovie and #FinalCutPro … and my #M4 #MacMini is barely warm.
By comparison?
The #overheating I get recording #video, with #multiple #iCloud #pages documents open?
Is enough to boil the kettle.
Can #Apple solve that … ?
