  1. From my slip-box, written after a conversation with Claude: my thinking shapes the AI's response, and its response alters my thinking. A cognitive feedback loop.

The upside is a perspective other than my own. The catch is that it is roughly the human average, and research suggests work made by human and AI together is less diverse than work made by humans alone.

  6. A line from my latest post that I keep coming back to: AI's neural network is fixed once trained - ours isn't. We evolved to adapt and learn throughout life, it's still one of the few edges we have left.

  7. A tip from my latest post: metacognition (thinking about your own thinking) is a meta-skill worth building deliberately.

Three ways in: self-testing, self-explanation, and concept mapping. None of them are complicated, they just need doing consistently.

  8. The final post in my "Why Technology Is Outpacing Society" series is live.

After four posts on why the gap between tech and us keeps widening, I didn't want to end on doom. So this one's about what's actually within our control: protecting our own cognitive abilities.

  9. I've been spring cleaning to exorcise evil spirits and bad qi (unnecessary metadata) from my notes:

  10. My journey from a simple note-taker to a dedicated PKM practitioner has been transformative. It's not just about collecting information; it's about building a connected web of knowledge that truly enhances understanding and creativity.

I share my personal experience and the 'why' behind PKM in my latest post. Hope it inspires you!

  11. @temporal I'm not familiar with the specific tools.

#Zettelkasten (or various other notetaking systems such as #POIC) rely fundamentally on capture, storage, organisation, search, and cross referencing. Different systems support these capabilities in different degrees and ways. Frictions especially are significant.

Paper-based systems are especially good at capture, less so for search/access and cross-referencing.

Any digital system treads a delicate line between complexity, friction, sustainability / obsolescence, usability and other factors. Less is frequently more.
