Works great! Picks up logs and concrete beams and even delicate stuff such as steel beams. I'm well pleased with the result 😸
The huge concrete beam weighs somewhere beyond 8 tons and is too heavy for our little digger, but it can grip it and drag it around. The thumb and fangs easily withstand the full force of the bucket curl cylinder.

Thumb ready. Finished making the pins and adjuster holes.
Didn't weld tubes inside the other holes. We'll see how they hold up. If they do oval out I can still do that, for the ones I use a lot.
I see now why nobody sells adjustable thumbs. This was a lot of extra work that would make it too expensive. Only DIYers get to have it :)
Only primer on there yet, still need to paint it but only have orange, blue and green available, none of which match well here.

I’m fine-tuning the cooling system for the USBridge-KVM 2.0 (which transmits BIOS data in text format via SSH). Under heavy load (2K video streaming), the temperature rose to 70 °C, which wasn’t acceptable to me.
I replaced the axial fan with a turbine fan for side-exhaust cooling.
I soldered a 2-millimeter copper spacer directly to the heatsink to reduce the gap to the chip.Stable temperature of 50°C under load. It’s incredibly satisfying to see the improvement thanks to the hardware modification.

This is the second time I repaired my kid's broken phone screen, and this time I managed to get it working without looking up a video tutorial online.
The new assembly even has copper heat dissipation, so I dusted up an old tube of thermal compound to re-paste the CPU.
While it's pretty fun, I gave it back saying "I will *not* do this again". It's still cheaper than getting another second-hand phone would have, but the third time it will no longer be.

Et du coup, je remercie @goldensuneur pour sa proposition d'impression 3D de pièces pour skadis, mais je n'ai pas trouvé les éléments skadis très qualitatifs en boutique (et la couleur bois est absente des rayons nantais). J'en resterai donc à cette solution plus classique mais tout aussi #DIY ou presque 😁 !

The Maladro!ts - gegründet 2007 an der sonnigen Schwarzwaldküste, inspiriert durch die lokale Garagen- und DIY-Szene, die heimische Plattensammlung und das Aufwach(s)en im Autonomen Zentrum Café Irrlicht. Seither unterwegs in gleicher Besetzung, mittlerweile allerdings zerstreut lebend in den Tiefen des Schwarzwaldes, Freiburg i. Br. und Berlin. Nun ist „Stabil“ seit geraumer Zeit zum Lieblingswort von The Maladro!ts mutiert – folgerichtig ziert es nun den Titel des 3. Longplayers. Und tatsächlich könnte der umtriebige Punkrock-Vierer stabiler nicht sein. Einerseits gewohnt zappelig in Punk-Manier, andererseits in neuen Gewässern nach deutlicher Weiterentwicklung fischend. Dabei immer höchst energiegeladen zwischen wütend-depressiv und melodisch-verspielt balancierend und dennoch positive Attitüde versprühend.

Mon Iké-hack du jour : 2 VATTENKAR combinés à la sauce #DIY pour faire une petite étagère de bureau informatique permettant de ranger box, switch et compagnie dans l'angle d'un vieux bureau galant toujours vaillant. Notez qu' #ikea avait prévu le montage possible dans les 2 sens, mais pas l'association de 2 exemplaires.
J'ai hésité à jouer de la perceuse pour solidariser l'élément supérieur, mais comme il est très stable, j'ai préféré ne pas détériorer les éléments originaux. Notez aussi que l'élément interne bas coulisse comme un tiroir et que c'est assez pratique !

Seine Band "The Scandals" war europaweit als Support von The Gaslight Anthem unterwegs. Der talentierte, junge Mann aus New Jersey eröffnete außerdem die komplette Tour zur Solo Scheibe von Brian Fallon. Mittlerweile ist Jared Hart entweder solo oder mit seiner Band Mercy Union unterwegs. Auf dieser Tour spielt er seine Songs puristisch und direkt, nur mit seiner Gibson Akustikgitarre und seiner unfassbar voluminösen Stimme.

Oli Ng is a Singer-Songwriter from Crewe, England.
His songs which have been said to give a life affirming, honest, and positive take on some of life’s greatest challenges, have taken him across the UK & Europe, sharing stages with a variety of acts such as Tom Robinson, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., Steve Ignorant (Crass), Neville Staple of The Specials, Jared Hart, Will Hoge and Huey Morgan (The Fun Lovin’ Criminals).
Born and raised in Crewe, and brought up on his parents love for Springsteen, it was inevitable that Oli Ng would become a songwriter. His journey into the music world didn't start at an early age though, as it was only in the latter years of his School life that he first picked up a Guitar and started his first band.
From there, Oli went on to perform across the UK with Alt-Rock band ‘The Eyres’ before starting his Solo Project. Oli has released a number of EPs, most notably his ‘Into The Dark’ EP which won ‘Best EP’ at the Staffordshire & Cheshire Music Awards in 2017.
Oli’s Debut Album "Everything Is Impossible Until It Happens", was released on April 7th 2023. Oli & His Band embarked on a 20-date UK & European Tour in October/November of 2023, in support of the record.

Thumb is getting there. Cut off the corners, flipped them around and welded them back on as reinforcements, now the whole thing looks more streamlined. I think it'll be strong enough without doubling up the thickness near the fangs.
If they break I'll do it :)
Also made two pins out of three. This is the dullest job in the world, drilling a 8mm hole through 25mm solid rod, but the pins I bought weren't long enough after some design tweaks. At least it's not stainless steel!
