I finished some interior panelling today. A gable end wall in the loft has been insulated with an extra ten centimetres of glass wool, then a fire-proofing layer of plaster board and finally the planelling.
It is bog standard pre-painted wood that you see in many Norwegian homes.
But it is dry pine and splits easily if you are not careful. I have been drilling pilot holes for the pins that hold the wood to the wall.
Still, the end result is pleasing and worth the effort.

Started on the barn roof repair. The barn is huge and therefore the roof is also.
The 10m ladder only reaches 5/8th up there, so I fashioned some ridge hooks for the telescoping aluminium ladder from wood. Makes it bloody heavy though.
I've put away my general purpose farm safety clogs for this and some climbing boots on and then with great effort hauled the second ladder up the first in one hand and then hooked it over the ridge, the pesky lightning arrestor cable there not helping at all.
The actual repair on that side was easy, just a panel to slide back into place, poke around for the batten and put some screws in. Then screw down all others in range so they don't get any ideas next storm.
The other side is going to be more work.

Gestern die Rechnung vom Elektriker für Anschluss und Anmeldung der #diy #Wärmepumpe bekommen.
Das gesamte Projekt "Austausch Gastherme gegen Wärmepumpe in Eigenarbeit" liegt jetzt bei ziemlich genau 7000€ inklusive Pflasterarbeiten. Möglicherweise kommt noch ein wenig hinzu: Dämmung außen ist noch nicht UV-fest, ph-Wert des Heizwassers noch unter 8.Ich freue mich.

I had to get a new servo and driver for the spindle because the other one I had could not do the Ethercat thing... I guess the RJ45 ports were there for looks (well, Modbus).
The new driver won't fit in the enclosure with the other electronics so it gets its own enclosure. It is quite tall so I had to get a little creative.
It is probably better this way, the EMF from the driver should not bother the other stuff now.

At my workplace there is this genius invention, that someone has built using a long plank, two legs from a wooden chair, and a dustpan without a handle. It's being held together by some duct tape and a couple of nails, and it's sole purpose is to get down the balls that have been kicked or thrown onto the roof. It works so well, and I am a little amused by the level of diy every time I see it being taken out. #schoollife #diy

Ok, so today I ask the question: how many parts can be swapped and its still the same #bike?
Right now its easier to list what's stock/original from my bike:
- frame
- front wheel, including tire (30000km!)
- handlebars, bell, one brake lever
- display (battery got replaced once)
- front brake calipers
- rear brake hydraulic line
- front fender
- cranks (not the pedals)
- cable from dynamo to light
- one or two zip tiesEverything else is upgraded now. Motor, pedals, seat post, seat, lights, rack, battery, battery mount, ...
New upgrade: new suspension fork that's not rusted solid

wir würden mal ausprobieren: Und zwar ist das hier ein Fan-Account für AGAINST!, den Punk/Hardcore Talk Podcast für Unterhaltungen mit Haltung.
Alle zwei Wochen gibt es neue Folgen mit ganz vielen lieben Menschen und Bands. Dabei geht es selten nur um die Musik. Oft auch um DIY, über FLINTA*-Räume in der Szene, Touren oder auch manchmal nur Quatsch. Anders, als bei anderen Podcasts: Näher dran, ehrlicher, weniger poliert und nicht die gleichen Standardfragen.

Grinder vom Philips Kaffeevollautomaten instand gesetzt. Die Achse des Antriebsrades im Getriebe hatte es abgedreht. Leider bekommt man das Mahlwerk nur komplett, dabei müsste man nur ein einfaches Plastikteil austauschen, Nun ja, die Laufzeit dieses überholten Mahlwerkes ist zwar auch absehbar, aber ich würde mal vermuten, dass bis dahin noch so einige Kaffee aus dem Automaten gelaufen sind.
Gerät sauber machen und zusammen bauen, und dann mal einen Kaffee machen.

Lo típico de que te ves con un poco más de tiempo, vas a por un plástico de nada y sales con un nuevo sueño laminado, rodapiés como para enmarcar Madrid, rodilleras y un aislante en el suelo.
La idea original de mi querida esposa era comprar una cosa de vinilo para pegar encima del suelo que ya está: baldosas viejas, agrietadas, irregulares y alguna que ni cuadraba.
De hecho ella quería pegarlo sobre planchas de madera de obra... Menos mal que un vídeo de YT rápido la ha convencido de que es mala idea (así en rápido: la madera absorbe humedad, se expande y contrae naturalmente y es bastante blanda e irregular, todo eso puede dañar el vinilo).Así que tras ver suelos bonitos (y los más baratos, no nos engañemos) vamos a poner este suelo y rodapiés nuevos.
Porque queremos una casa bonita.
Porque nos la merecemos, coño.Ya os contaremos el proceso pero supuestamente debería ser relativamente sencillo.
Voy a inflarme a ver videos de YT y ya contaré que tal la experiencia...

Today I learned how to print something on a single business card blank using a laser printer.
1. take a full sheet of paper (A4)
2. cut out a hole slightly smaller than the business card blank
3. stick the card to the back of the sheet using (painters) tape
4. make sure that your print is positioned correctly
5. print using the single sheet feeder
6. remove the printed card blank from the sheetIt worked surprisingly well fo a couple of cards.

Good good. Common sense will be restored in the world when everyone else has fallen off the roof from taking AI advice 👍️

The day may be remembered as "Sign and Broom Day" each year, from now on (with a celebration).

The rope we used to bind the brush to the shelter may also be used as a clothes line in the shelter entrance. There are useful hooks.
So this project is completed successfully now, many thanks to all the people who helped to make it possible!
I am looking for art residencies to create more shelters on participative artistic shelter construction sites where we re-use found and given materials. Searching for it with priority on germany because this is a "developing country" in case of free public common infrastructure (for climatefriendly travelling).

So as I've been droning on about, I'm doing lots of painting in the house. Next is the dining room. I have to live with the wood chip wallpaper but it's currently clinical white. I was all set to go with a sage tone to complement the fabulous orange dining chairs but I'm now leaning towards a fresh lemony colour as it's such a light sunny room. Current light is very Mum, a crystal drop arrangement which will be going. Instead I am totally in love with these. #DIY
