Ok, new seal installed, new bearings, all put together with some grey goo, wonderful.
Fill in some diesel to flush out the mud and expectedly, the side I fixed is fine but its gushing out the other wheel now. The filler happens to be on this side, so for oil (or the diesel I'm flushing with) to reach the other side, it needed to be fixed this end first.
Should've ordered both sides, in hindsight. And the bearings need replacing anyways, the play on the outer end of the rim has gone from 5 mm to under 1mm.
Also getting the steering seals and bearings, just in case. The differential is hopefully ok.
Another €45 in bearings and €93 for the other cassette seals. 😭

Bearing puller finally came. Bit late in the day, but we're in a hurry, so it got put to work and while it did not fit inside the concave gear (har!) it worked anyways with some sandal squat mechanic inspiration.
The gushing seal is busted of course but it looks like eons of normal wear rather than anything special like grass damage. Certainly hasn't been replaced in a long time, if ever. Of course now I worry about the others.
The outer bearing is also worn out, but that's normal, the inner bearing is still ok but will get replaced too.
I'll put it back together tomorrow and we'll see if there's any more leaks on the front axle.

Frog got deported from the sauna to this well abused tree stump that now features a small pool.
Doesn't look too upset about it. Bit of a pokerface though.

It finally stopped raining and the squishy brown mud is improving, both outside and in my intestine 😜
So continuing on the foundation job. High time.
Took off the supports and took ages chiselling out a temporary piece of wood that was supposed to come out before the concrete set 🤦
Then mixed up some more lime mortar and put a nice 45 degree'ish bevel on the bottom log. This is the weather side and got rained on plenty for days, yet when I pried off a piece of lime mortar for science, I found dry wood, so this works as promised.
Lime mortar = wood can dry.
Cement mortar = wood will die.Anyways, that's it. I'm definitely not back at full strength yet, bending over still gave me a pulsating headache.
