Getting emotional listening to this #cassette tape I picked up yesterday from a free box. I owned this album (on tape, I believe) when I was a kid and I listened to it a lot. It's almost 80 minutes of music and wouldn't even fit on a single CD. I love Simon and Garfunkel. Paul Simon's solo work never quite carried the emotional weight of this duo for me.

I say "presenting as a trio onstage" because on their records, Weird Youth is just one person, Harmen Ridderbos, recording on #cassette using one of them fancy late model cassette multirackers that could do 8 tracks. I bought their /his album "Season One" but haven't listened to it yet.
Instead I'm listening to "Well enough about me, what about you" by CAW CAW on Qobuz. They're a pop-punk sort of group, good energy. I like them.

Got a collection of 15 used #TDK #D90 and #D60 #cassette tapes. They have classical music recorded onto them. The noise levels are insane, so I think they were probably recorded on cheap gear. The D90s are marked as made in Japan, and this is repeated on the J-cards with a date of 1985. The D60s don't say where or when they were made and the J-cards only say "printed in USA", but they otherwise look very similar to the D90s.

I went to a thriftshop to pick up some cassette tapes, to be able to record on them. I picked up 2 tapes. Unfortunately for me, after listening and reading the liner notes, both of the tapes are pretty interesting, and I don't feel like I want to record over either of them. I ordered a batch of lightly used "blank" cassettes. From the pics, I think they just have been recorded with classical music and I have no qualms about recording over bootleg classical music tapes, lol.

It's been a while since I last bought a new album on cassette!
At some point I'll have to fix one of my tape players so I can actually play it. 😆
