Mein #Lenovo #Thinkpad #T590 fährt korrekt hoch, Display bleibt dunkel (mit Taschenlampe sieht man schwach den Anmeldebildschirm).
Da ist offenbar Sicherung des Backlights gestorben, vermutlich durch defektes Displaykabel im Scharnier.
Da ich weder Equipment / Erfahrung / Ehrgeiz im SMD-Löten habe - gibt es in #Karlsruhe einen seriösen Laden, der solche #Reparatur​en (Sicherung- und Kabeltausch) zu realistischen Preisen macht? Oder gehe ich zum #Repaircafe?

"Join us for this workshop alongside our 19 September #PalmerstonNorth #RepairCafé, at the Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre, as part of #RepairFestivalAotearoa.

The workshop will cover:
Cleaning your sewing machine
Oiling and what not to oil, type of oil to use
Setting tensions
Needle and thread selection

Daryl will have sewing machines there to demonstrate. He says that most problems with sewing machines are related to dirt, needles and not oiling properly.

Please feel free to bring along fabric or material which gives an example of your sewing challenges. So if your overlocking is not nice and even, or you have challenges with grinning stitches (where it pulls apart after sewing)."

(Longer post incoming) I attended a #repaircafe walk in Mumbai! The experience was interesting

I am used to roaming places like CTC in Hyd, SP road in Bangalore, Lamington road in Mumbai, usually with dad but also frequently myself or with college friends.

Doing it as part of a community walk was a first because it felt exciting to meet folks with a similar set of interests explore a new but familiar scene. Safe to say that I'll be attending more of these

Danke für die nützlichen Hinweise. Am Ende hat mir ein sehr erfahrener Mensch (Andreas ) beim #Repaircafe #Wandlitz im #Barnim geholfen. Das Repaircafe ist jeden Donnerstagnachmittag offen beim #Umweltclub und kann mit der #Reparatur von #Dinge|n aller Art helfen und man lernt dort auch viel. Aus meinem italienischen Computer wurde jetzt ein deutschsprachiger. Andreas hat einfach die Netzwerkeinstellungen zurückgesetzt. Magisch für den erstaunten Nur-Nutzer.

Our May Repair Cafe is coming up! Come visit us at the Lorton Library. Doors open at 10:30, and we close to new repairs at 12:30pm. Knife sharpening closes at 12:00pm to allow time for cleanup. We'd love to see you there!

I'm volunteering at a local repair café at my local library this weekend. If you have the capability (time+energy+skills), I strongly encourage participating! It's a great way to meet neighbors for the first time, give back to your community, and poke at things you've never seen before.

I've been doing PC/laptop repair for... longer than I want to admit. Many pieces of my kit come from @iFixit (https://www.ifixit.com/Tools), and they're often the first place I'll check for weird tools for small electronics. I've also picked up a couple of their Minnow driver kits to keep in my bag and car, just in case.

Gestern konnten wir auf unserem Linux-Nachmittag in #Uelsen die Rechner von 25 Menschen im Alter von 14 bis 80 Jahren von Windows auf Linux umstellen.

Die Resonanz war sehr positiv, die Hütte war rappelvoll (ich bin dankbar für alle Helfer, die uns unterstützt haben) und die nächsten zwei Ersatztermine sind auch schon fast ausgebucht.
