Wordt al gezellig bij #reticulum .. al meerdere #lora en tcp nodes in de regio. (en niet enkel van mij)
Mijn 2 tcp nodes zijn verdeeld in land node met tcp connecties naar 1 node in een land (rns.valleirug.nl) en de andere node met alle Nederlandse tcp nodes (rnl.valleirug.nl).
Mijn 2 lora nodes zijn heltec v4.3 met buiten antenne en RTNode firmware erop. Die via wifi dan weer naar rnl.valleirug.nl connecten.
Babbelen kan via lxmf (valleirug chat groep) en rrc (Nederlandstalig)

To summarize this day of tinkering with my #reticulum #RNode s : apparently going out and touching some gras fixes a lot of issues.
No path between two #Lora nodes? fixed!
Could not pair with node via BLE? fixed!
Eye strain? fixed!all by changing nothing and just waiting...
next up, doing something with the nrf boards ...

Team @meshcore only just released 1.17 a few days ago. Today they’ve already released 1.17.1 with some bug fixes and even a couple new features.
Very impressed and appreciative of the updates! Feels like this team is really hitting a stride. 💪

I'm experimenting with two Wio Tracker L1, one flashed with #Meshtastic and one with #MeshCore, to compare those off-grid #LoRa networks. So far, there seems to be nothing in my region :( But I'll keep them running for a while - maybe something will show up.

SUCCESS! well partially but still. Received a #reticulum message sent via #lora #rnode via my two XIAO ESP32! But only in one direction ... the other does not work, only sees announces but does not get ant messages or recipes.

#MeshCore crisis! For unknown reasons, reception SNR suddenly dropped about 10 dB and has stayed on this level for days. Noise floor is unchanged.
Repeater is a #Seeed #SenseCAP Solar with a build-in 868MHz filter from https://www.mesh-up.nl/ (TX limited to 20 dB as specified). The filter was a huge success, with NF dropping from -85 to -117. Worked for weeks, then reception dropped drastically.
No additional waterproofing was done, apart from the heat shrink tubing on the RP-SMA/N cable. I took it apart though, and it didn't seem moist. Waterproofed it with self-amalgamating tape and remounted.
Some have suggested weather conditions (previously hot/dry weather could have raised the SNR bar), water in installation (unlikely?) and a fried filter (wouldn't this bring the NF back to -85?).
Thoughts?

«Тосок бессмысл»: как я не смог заставить Gemma 4 писать хорошие стихи
Дано: стихотворение. Тема — «тщетность накопления жизненного опыта», амфибрахий, четыре строки. Заканчивается словом «тосок». Такого слова в русском языке нет. Мой оценщик поставил этому тексту техничность 1.000 — идеал. К этому моменту я месяц жёг GPU-часы на арендной L40S, пытаясь заставить Gemma 4 писать русские стихи. У меня был план из четырёх пунктов, свежая статья с рабочим рецептом, размеченный корпус на 13 тысяч пар и собственная метрика, проверенная на Пушкине. План развалился весь, но каждый раз не в том месте, где я ждал: главный подозреваемый до последнего выглядел очевидным, а виновным оказался совсем другой персонаж. Это детектив про то, как четыре файнтюна подряд проиграли необученной базе, как я месяц принимал решения по шуму и не знал об этом — и почему рифму нельзя выучить в принципе, а можно только навязывать. Настоящие цифры, реальный loss и плохие стихи прилагаются.

Installing #RNode #reticulum on my XIAO nRF52840 ( + #LoRa board) is really troublesome. got the firmware (RNode CE from Dev branch, one commit back) compiled but not uploaded :/ also am a newbe on this field.

I’ve been so busy preparing for #hope26, I haven’t done anything to mention or promote it here. Let me just say that I can’t wait to be back in NYC for this year’s #HOPE. I’m looking forward to catching up with the folks I met last year and, oh yeah, I’ll be presenting! I feel very privileged on that point and am excited to share some of my work on #FRST and #LoRa and #9P with this community.
