There is no good #HomeAssistant add-on anymore.
The entire #HACS is flooded with slop, people making a thing that they need, and works for them, using (usually) #Claude #Code or something.
Not experienced devs that'll keep things running, and an incredible amount of duplicate code across and inside these add-ons.
Dumping every thought and fart into a new add-on is not helping anyone, and I'm just sitting here manually thinking and writing code that does what I want it to do. -

Got a cheap #Tapo/#TP-Link cam to monitor Mocha (my cat) and I’m so bloody surprised how easy it is to integrate into #HomeAssistant. Only a single Tapo integration needed to be installed thru #HACS. It’s so much fucking trouble to add my #Eufy cameras which costs more than 5x each. Fuck Eufy/#Anker, honestly. Trash company.

Implementing boundaries and guidelines for agents is an ongoing process.
You may recall that I initiated a blueprint for HACS-based integrations, aiming to establish that foundation as a starting point to prevent AI from starting on an empty slate.

I found a solution to only have onc: SVG Jinja templates! A browser can display SVG and I can rasterize them for E-Ink Displays. Also the widget are a bit nicer now.

So now my #homeassistant has met.no integration and I have hourly and daily weather for my home.
I have also created local calendars for trash schedule. And Infused Calendar Card Pro from #HACS to show them.
Colored so I know which trash bin to fill before they will be emptied 😅And on top of that I have a second dashboard for my wife with the weather for the place where the horse is.
