@truls46 I have been using #WhisperFish over 6 months now! I have been loving it :) I have registered it as a secondary device as you can't back up messages really. I have androis signal client on my #JollaPhone as a primary signal client, whicb backups everything. I have disabled all other notifications from android #Signal client but audio and video calls as WhisperFish doesn't currently support those. This way I can have audio and vide calls also

My Jolla Phone (2026) finally arrived today! With 6.3" display it is one of the largest smartphones I have ever had, and I already love its beautiful design :) #jollaphone @jolla #sailfishos #jolla

Jolla Phone 2026 plně nastaven. A su spokojen.
Co nefunguje:
Revolut - brutální omezení, mj. na zákaz rootování mobilu, ale SailfishOS je implicitně s dostupnými root právy. Účet tam mám od roku 2020, kdy jsem tam vložil 300Kč a od té doby nepoužil. Zjednodušené ovládání je možné via web.
Duolingo - kkti nějak checkují, jestli to jede na oficiálním Androidu, nebo co. Komické je, že mám u nich účet navázaný na mejl [email protected], takže s Google účtem nemám v tomto případě nic společného. Kkti fagt. Vytvořen ticket, ať si hrají.
Tokenizace platební karty - americký duopol je silný, karetní organizace to asi řešit moc nechcou, takže GPay(nebo spíše obdoba) ani NFC platby nefungují. To mi neva, mám fyzickou kartu, ale někomu to může vadit.

Great attention to details by @jolla - high quality screen protector with privacy filter (really smooth for swipe gestures). It doesn't end there, the screen protector comes with an applicator! Great for someone like me who can never do a successful application on the first try. Lastly, decision paralysis on which TOH to outfit the #JollaPhone on my trip to Slovenia!

So I ordered a #jollaphone (2026), and it was delivered last month.
I tried very hard to get it to work. But there are virtually no communication apps in the store, the maps app cannot fetch any location, the promised android apps just straight up do not work, and the device has an annoying pulsating light on the backside that cannot be switched off.
I opened bug reports, but received no help.
I contacted #jolla directly for repairs, and received no answer.
I am disappointed.
I tested #sailfishos on a sony xperia iii a few years ago, and it was nice, apart from the abyssmal call quality. I thought that would be better on their own hardware. But no. -
@ploum reminds me of of my recent discussion with an electrician - I declined the suggested replacement extractor fan with Bluetooth and an App. They seemed to take my “one more thing to break” reasoning in their stride.
My spouse really did hold out with no smart phone until about last year. Meanwhile I’m about to switch to #SailfishOS #JollaPhone 🤞

Scrollen fühlt sich auch richtig mittelmäßig an, obwohl die FPS Anzeige dauerhaft auf 90 steht. Texte flimmern beim scrollen was das Zeug hält.
Oh und reguläres auf und ab scrollen in einem Blog-Artikel von Geizhals ist auch quasi unmöglich. Lässt sich kaum bedienen und schon gar nicht mit sanften leichten Bewegungen verschieben. Alles ist verzögert und rutscht wie blöd hin und her.

Idealo führt nach anklicken eines Artikels regelmäßig in eine Fehlermeldung, also unbenutzbar.
Geizhals hat nach kurzem durchsuchen einiger Artikel direkt den Geist aufgegeben und der Browser stürzt wieder mehrfach komplett ab.
Da lieht einiges im Argen, wenn ich nicht mal alltägliche Webseiten besuchen kann.
Was zum Henker, @jolla ? Wie kann man solche Software verkaufen?

Die "double tap to wake up" ist cool und so, klar. Aber es dauert viel zu lange. Das Display animiert sich erst schön und dann ist es nutzbar. Das muss instant sein, um es gut für Benachrichtigungen und Uhrzeit nutzen zu können.

Mit ganz schnellem Tippen auf Hamburger Menü und Tab schließen. Und vielen Versuchen.
Merke: gsmarena bringt den Sailfish Browser zum abstürzen.

Der WLAN Empfang pendelt zwischen einem und zwei Strichen. Mein Sony 1 IV hat an gleicher Stelle vollen Empfang.

Auch komplett schließen und neu öffnen hilft nicht. Die Seite fängt an zu laden und der Browser stirbt. Wie komm ich da wieder raus? :thonking:

Habe es gewagt auf den Zurück Button zu tippen. Browser stürzt mehrfach hintereinander ab.
