  1. Great attention to details by @jolla - high quality screen protector with privacy filter (really smooth for swipe gestures). It doesn't end there, the screen protector comes with an applicator! Great for someone like me who can never do a successful application on the first try. Lastly, decision paralysis on which TOH to outfit the #JollaPhone on my trip to Slovenia!

  2. #JollaPhone camera test. I'm not expecting amazing image quality, but was still hoping for a bit more. Well, at least it's better than #JollaC2 😆

#Tampella #Finlayson (need to visit Pispala some day... iykyk)

  3. So I ordered a #jollaphone (2026), and it was delivered last month.
I tried very hard to get it to work. But there are virtually no communication apps in the store, the maps app cannot fetch any location, the promised android apps just straight up do not work, and the device has an annoying pulsating light on the backside that cannot be switched off.
I opened bug reports, but received no help.
I contacted #jolla directly for repairs, and received no answer.

    I am disappointed.
I tested #sailfishos on a sony xperia iii a few years ago, and it was nice, apart from the abyssmal call quality. I thought that would be better on their own hardware. But no.

  7. I usually don't post links to commercial websites, but for this I am making an exception.

What a quirky product launch. Emotions exploding, at least by northern European standards. I love every second of it and now I am upset I didn't go there!

    :awesome:

Jolla and SailfishOS should be much more in public focus. It is a great product and driven by a European mindset. Data protection, privacy, functionality and design (Of course, it's from Scandinavia!). We have a European mobile platform and should use it!

And no, modified Androids are not really the answer... We need sovereignty from Big Tech in hardware, software and usability/ecosystem.

  9. The new Jolla Phone might support swappable back covers that add new hardware capabilities

This month Jolla launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new smartphone designed to run the company’s Linux-based Sailfish operating system. At the time Jolla was hoping to get at least 2,000 people to put down a deposit before it would commit to actually manufacturing the phone.

As of this morning, more than 5,600 people have backed the project. So, like many crowdfunding campaigns before it, […]
