Niepotrzebna kupa złomu - tak bym odpowiedział, gdyby ktoś zapytał mnie o moje wrażenia z użytkowania SONY z systemem SailfishOS.

Niestety, ale takie są fakty - kamera nie działa i nawet jeśli wszystko inne jest cudowne (może jest), to brak aparatu dyskwalifikuje urządzenie ze wszelkich znanych mi zastosowań.

Szkoda, że Jolla listuje ten model wysoko mimo skrajnej niekompatybilności. Może gdyby było inaczej, wtedy ja (i pewnie jeszcze ktoś) nie zaopatrywałby się w telefon, na którym nawet nie przewiduje się obsługi aparatu, ani aplikacji android.

Cóż winić mogę tylko siebie, bo przepaliłem na to kilkaset złotych bez wcześniejszego sprawdzenia czy ten telefon na pewno się nadaje.

Za projekt trzymam kciuki i życzę mu jak najlepiej, ale znając siebie ja do tej wody już raczej nie wejdę. No chyba, że akurat w ręce wpadnie mi coś kompatybilnego - wtedy czemu nie... Może nawet opłacę licencję - która uważam jest w bardzo uczciwej cenie.

@jbz #Jolla J2 starts with an EU launch but sailfish os is not EU exclusive. I would like to see them offering ROM options for @Fairphone #fairphone and other devices that are open to flashing so that Jolla can extend its #sailfishos userbase and interest from developers.

Just setup new (data-only) #eSIM from #Airalo for myself & spouse, that should be all set for Japan... I must admit this was much more slick on #iOS26 than on #iOS18. I'm still not upgrading mine - fingers crossed this will be easy with #SailfishOS by next year as all being well I'll have switched to the new #Jolla phone by then 🤞

Today, we celebrate our incredible team, partners, and community. The Jolla team kick-started the May Day celebrations in the office by enjoying some traditional Finnish mead and doughnuts.

We also checked out the students' May Day celebrations in Tampere, and handed out patches to spread the word about our flagship product the Jolla Phone and the Digital Independence citizens’ initiative, which Jolla proudly supports.

The #Furilabs (@furilabs) #Debian and #Phosh based phone really might cut it though: Really good #Android support in a #Linux container for all those apps that I (think I) need (even a lot of the banking apps are working) and of course for all the rest I can easily install Linux apps.

Big update for #SailShark on #SailfishOS!

I’ve just integrated real-time WiFi decryption. By adding WPA2 keys in the settings, the app now uses #tshark backends to decrypt packets on the fly. Seeing DNS and HTTP traffic instead of just 802.11 DATA over the air is incredibly satisfying.

Next stop: catching that 4-way handshake!

Noch ein bisschen MWC-Nachlese: Wir haben gleich zu dritt den Stand von @jolla besucht. Es ist ein eigens designtes Smartphone, es wird nahe Helsinki zusammengesetzt, der Akku ist tauschbar, Abhängigkeiten von Google gibt es nur optional und die ersten Telefone sind schon alle ausverkauft. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich Sailfish OS machen wird. Damals fand ich MeeGo richtig vielversprechend und hier ist viel der alten Nokia noch drin.

Welp. It's been a fun one Android. Once my phone breaks, I'm done having a phone, until I get a job that pays well so I can buy myself a Linux phone.

I know dumb phones still exist and I don't mind typing with the keypads but I'd rather have no phone than have a dumb phone

When that time comes that my last phone breaks, I will probably be the only Gen Z in the whole world who has no phone.
