Esperienza #Jolla parte 2.
In questo paio di giorni ho spulciato il Forum e grazie a qualche post sparso sono riuscito ad installare i due diversi store e a migrare gli OTP da Google Authenticator. Le app native sono molto belle e apprezzo molto la coesione di tutti gli elementi grafici e gesture.
Non vivendo in Italia non ho bisogno di app istituzionali come IO, l'app Fineco funziona bene (no impronta digitale però). Nei prossimi giorni proverò l'app di Intesa.

D'acord. Em tornaré a fer el meu acudit que només em ric jo sola. El meu #Jolla com a transport han usat un peix vela (Sailfish) que encara està creuant el mar obert Bàltic. Ara plorem junts de perquè sóc així i no cal discutir sobre IQ.

If the forum fails to help, it's also possible to file a support ticket.
It seems there's bad luck involved somehow, or even hardware problem, as I follow the #jolla tag and most seem happy with "minor" hitches, not showstoppers.
But I fully understand the frustration, it's an expensive device and despite new and for enthustiasts it shouldn't go into such depths of trouble. I was there when I had the .11 software.

@jolla So, adding mobile data to the prepaid and then doing a device reset _did_ make it recognize both the mobile and the wifi network. Enabling both made the setup app crash. The app restarted, but threw me back into the fingerprint scanner routine.
In the middle of fingerprint scanning, I apparently pressed a bit too hard, and the phone locked. And I while I can swipe from top to bottom, I cannot swipe left and right - and buttons on the pull-down menu don't register.

Nelle prossime settimane inizia la sperimentazione, e in autunno chissà se il mio main device sarà un Linux Phone...

there was an update for the jolla phone 2. it went smoothly, and i get the impression that the battery time of my phone has now improved.
bluetooth still is very bad. once connected the headset stays connected. the headset shows a connection, it tells me it's connected, and the connection is shown in the phone's bluetooth setting. but there is no sound output. getting sound requires seemingly random starts, stops of bluetooth service, headphone reconnects, start stop of audio source. it can take several minutes and has to be redone every time when the headphone is to be connected.
so improvement is possible @jolla

Yesterday on Day 3 of daily-driving the #JollaPhone I decided I'll take a different approach. If at the end I am just using Android apps... what's the point of it?
So I am doing a step back, I put the phone sim card back into my Pixel phone, and instead I will use it around the house purely with native linux apps.
I also set up the dev environment yesterday, and I managed to deploy and run a sample app via cli tools. I didn't manage to set up the emulator.

@timojyrinki @jolla Gods fucking hell. What is it about Jolla that they need my date of birth for signing up, or whatever other weird requirements. They seriously are displeasing me now.
Apart from it being seriously stupid I need to ask on a company's forums just to use a device I paid for.

Okay, so I got a sim card, and reset to factory. And the device still doesn't do wifi. Maybe I should put in a sim card with actual internet on it... But... Given that this is the culmination of a development started even before 2007, when I got involved with Maemo, this is maybe a bit too much of a teething problem. And, nope, it doesn't matter what the position of what I think is the privacy switch on the left is. (It's undocumented. No manual...)
