Is that so? Any selected text in native apps is automatically put into the clipboard for as long as I can remember using #SailfishOS, no copy button involved. 🤔

I’m not sure why it took me so many years to realize I needed it (on a second thought, perhaps it’s because the browser engine is very old and half the websites don’t work...).

Anyway, I’ve just released to Chum a Netscape HTML bookmarks file importer for #SailfishOS.

Also, pretty sure the first banner I saw when I first opened the Jolla store app was for a tracker. This makes me very happy. #jolla #sailfishOs

First post from my Jolla phone! I think we can become friends, and beside all the other good things it's great fun to be using a phone which is just ... different.

Jolla also seem to have nailed keyboard input and corrections to a higher degree than Apple. But I guess we need to cut Apple some slack, they're a bit new to the whole phone game.

Two-way communication with the school and the after-school care program is today done mainly with apps on your phone.

I'm using both Skolemelding and Vigilo on my Jolla Phone 2026. They seem to be fully working.

Bilan rapide au bout de 5 jours d'utilisation du #jolla #JP2601 sous #SailfishOS : C'est désormais mon téléphone utilisé au quotidien, et a pris la place de mon Xperia XA2 (qui n'a plus de carte SIM mais reste utilisable en wifi, sauf pour la téléphonie).

Au niveau utilisation, peu de changements, juste 2-3 applications¹ qui ne fonctionnent pas (architecture non compatible et flemme d'installer un SDK récent et de choper les sources pour recompiler en aarch64).

¹ : prawn (client lobster/JdH), SimScout et System Ninja. Autant je peux me passer des deux derniers, autant prawn...

Truc que j’avais activé (il y a longtemps) sur mon XA2 et qui me manquait sur le JP2601, basculer rapidement de l’appli courante à l’appli précédente avec juste un glisser depuis le bord gauche ou le bord droit, sans relâcher (relâcher quand l’autre appli est sélectionnée ou au son)

@abranson has just released RSS Event Feed on OpenRepos (https://openrepos.net/content/abranson/rss-event-feed). A brilliant idea! I've activated it with the feed we have for operational messages (IT systems with problems and so on) at work.

@buckfiftyseven You don't have to start it by yourself. It will be started after an update through a apt hook.
The package manager on #openSUSE #SUSE and #SailfishOS zypper has that build in.
It will tell you in the summary if an upgrade requires an update.

Migrating away from my iPhone, ment also finding a replacement for my RSS app Reeder.

I ended up migrating my OPML file from iCloud to my private Nextcloud server and I installed Nextcloud News. On the Jolla Phone I installed the Fuoten app (https://openrepos.net/content/buschtrommel/fuoten). It really does the job!

The new Jolla Phone comes with built in support for Nextcloud. I use Nextcloud both at work and at home, so contacts and private calendar are both synced to my phone. Sync of pictures is turned off, and Immich is used instead. And for files I have started playing with the app Ferry Sync!

Kilka tygodni z SailfishOS:
- no dobra, ładny
- dzwoni, pisze, przegląda, gra... przyspiesza, hamuje, oleju nie bierze
- z moimi paluchami nawigacja 100% na gestach to zaawansowany sadyzm - pytanie do ludzi związanych z #giereczkowo : widziałem na alledrogo nakładki "gejmerskie" na kciuki, rzekomo poprawiające kontrolę ekranów dotykowych... używał ktoś? Jest to coś warte?
- jedna duża wtopa w UI/UX: domyślnie zamykamy aplikację przez przesunięcie w lewo... no to spróbujcie tak zamknąć np. galerię zdjęć albo cokolwiek, gdzie jest kilka ekranów, między którymi można przechodzić w obie strony. To jest jak totolotek.
- wkurzająca apple'owatość: twórcy wiedzą lepiej jak system ma wyglądać, nie zmienisz nawet rozmiaru czcionki (albo jest to tak perfidnie ukryte)
- Bluetooth nie działa. To znaczy, łączy się i paruje ze wszystkim bez problemów, ale z niczym nie można nic zrobić, bo jest rozpoznawane jako urządzenie audio (klawiatura zewn. też :D). Ustaliłem, że to wina implementacji pakietu bluez5, ale na forach cisza. Nikt nic nie wie, czeski film, w ogóle gros wpisów na forach jest jakoś sprzed roku...
- jak się pokopie po forach, to się okazuje, że jest jeszcze kilka aplikacji sklepowych, więc na brak softu nie narzekam (poza tym pakiety to zwykłe RPM-y)
- wszyscy jesteśmy poweruserami, konsola rządzi, konsola radzi i do szczęśliwości prowadzi (może zainstaluję Midnight Commandera? ale bez klawiatury obsługa będzie męką...)

Swój telefon kupiłem za równowartość tygodniowych zakupów dla rodziny, więc nie będę narzekał. Ale jak ktoś się połakomił na oficjalny Jolla Phone za 700 ojro i musiałby się teraz bawić w debugowanie implementacji BT, to miałby prawo się wkurzyć.
