    > basically whole core is open source

Well, the whole core is Linux and Linux utils. Nothing that Jolla have developed themselves. These are already on 99+% of all linux desktop and laptops and has nothing to do with nor .

Don't quote me on this, but I believe even legally Jolla cannot even make them not OpenSource due to the licensing of these software.

As far as I understand, Jolla's Browser and Office are the only things that Jolla voluntarily have OpenSourced.

Needless to say that @jolla is not "the only open source based and independent mobile OS without any ties to big corporations" because, from the top of my head, at least these Linux-based Mobile OSs exist and are 100% or almost 100% OpenSource:

    - @postmarketOS
    - @ubports
    - @mobian
    - @ManjaroARM
    - @purism

I just managed to find some time to go through the tabs on my computer 😅 I'll just add two links to add to the topic:

    1. in 2015 @jolla stated this:

    > Our goal with the is to develop an open source operating system in co-operation with the community,

    Source: web.archive.org/web/2015010104

    2. Today they have this instead:

    > It is the only open source based and independent mobile OS without any ties to big corporations

That ship already sailed when yesterday in full force the and community called newcomers "moron", "couch CEO", "rude", "inconsiderate", and so on. I personally was only honored with the "couch CEO" and "rude". Luckily, I was not the one the self-proclaimed "oldtimers" were cursing and cussing, and I was just in the crossfire.

Lack of moderation form @jolla during the past weeks means that they are silently approving this behavior.
