Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) plays a critical role in protecting Canadians through weather forecasting, severe weather warnings, climate monitoring and scientific research;Canada is experiencing increasingly frequent and severe weather and climate related events, including wildfires, floods, atmospheric rivers, hurricanes, heat waves, winter storms and derechos;
Weather radar research, observation stations, Weatheradio services and frontline meteorological staff are essential public safety tools, particularly for rural, remote and Indigenous communities;Recent and proposed reductions to ECCC staffing, research capacity, and public weather services risk weakening Canada’s ability to predict, monitor, and respond to dangerous weather events;
Reliable weather forecasting and climate science are vital to emergency preparedness, transportation safety, agriculture, marine operations and public confidence; and
Canadians deserve a strong, modern and fully supported public weather service.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to
1. Reverse cuts to Environment and Climate Change Canada that impact weather forecasting, meteorological research and climate science;
2. Restore and maintain Weatheradio and other accessible public alert systems;
3. Protect and expand weather observation and climate monitoring stations across Canada;
4. Ensure adequate staffing and long-term funding for ECCC programs, scientists, meteorologists and technical experts; and

Do I have any plumbers following me? Or people who are great at DIY plumbing stuff?
I’ve got an issue with my shower, absolutely no spoons to deal with it and the worst, strangest shower fixture I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s more common in other countries?
It’s a Riobel thermostatic and the little handle that controls temperature is NOT working.
I’ve been trying to tolerate it but got scalded badly tonight and I’ve had enough.
If anyone can help me kick ideas around I would be super grateful.

in october of last year, the Paint.NET on Linux topic resurfaced in the Paint.NET forums. apparently someone who goes by Blue Beard was working on getting Wine to work with the program. subsequently they got help from Paint.NET staff so that the effort could go in the right direction. today, the effort is still going and there's a somehow active GitHub repository with patches to Wine so that Paint.NET works, and from what i can see, it does! people are running Paint.NET!
the goal of this post is to spread awareness about the topic, and hopefully get more people on board with testing and maybe even helping if anyone knows how to deal with this. below, i've linked the forum thread, which has links to past threads with more information in them, and the GitHub repo with the patches, instructions, and a roadmap, in the repo everyone can look at the code and submit issues and PRs. i'd very much appreciate it as i miss Paint.NET a lot, i'll certainly be looking for ways to help as well!

I am in Pittsburgh. Here's how it all went down.
Halfway through the drive to Pittsburgh I was told that I had no place to go once I landed. I'd been told it was a sure thing, my place in that transitional housing location. I'd asked if they needed my resume or anything else to make myself more 'marketable' for the housing position. They said no, I didn't need it; it'd be fine.
It was not fine.
I couldn't do anything. I was mid-drive. So I continued to drive. I went to a few places I was told were housing options, but they were homeless shelters. That's fine, but it wasn't where I thought I was yet.
Still, I was just so tired. So, exhausted and trying to do my best with what I had, I got myself and Riko an AirBnB for the night. We were able to do laundry so that the clothes we brought from the toxic place could finally be cleaned. I slept, but it was rough because housing was still uncertain.
The next day, I made every call that I could. I tried so hard to get in touch with anybody that could help. I got some intake appointments for Monday, but that was the soonest I could get anything done. I was preparing to take my belongings to a storage and then to go to a shelter with Riko; it was the only option left to me given the money that I still had in my pocket.
And that's when a miracle happened. Someone from the LGBTQIA+ community in Pittsburgh asked me if I needed a place to stay. I did, obviously, and I agreed to go meet them. They are wonderful, and because of them I've been able to finally really and truly rest through one night.
I'm back, and now I'm moving forward with things. Next week, I address any hiccups with the PA license and begin answering some of the jobs that have already reached out to me. And between now and then, maybe I can get some editing done.

I am nowhere near done needing help. I'm in Pittsburgh, but with all the moving expenses, I have very little left for anything else. The goal is still distant, but I'm finally in a safer space, and I am grateful I can finally start to go slow again.

I'm so tired of being alive, everything takes so much effort...a brief summary of why I'm asking for help: I'm living with constant extreme anxiety and depression, and am living in a bad household environment, being forced to have to move back into my mom's house, after living with my (now ex) girlfriend for 5+ years, not being able to work because of mental issues is becoming unbearable for me... my mom and dad (who are divorced since I was 4) do not give me any money whatsoever, I have to rely on my grandma and great aunt to give me money when they can... I calculated my expenses in the past, food+meds basically, and occasionally stuff like gas tanks or laundry detergent (because my mom uses anything to start fights around here... I have to buy my own food and gas and do my laundry, cause if she's the one doing it, she uses it against me when being verbally abusive...) and it's "only" around 400€ a month, give or take (I wish I could work and have my own money... there's nothing I wish more in my life... but it feels impossible, I get so anxious and nauseous from all the pressure... and I'm 29, I'm a failure, I know, but I need help from whoever can help me, please...)

"Shelter!" is an initiative for free public overnight-shelters. I am developing it while studying M.A. #Gestaltung at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts #Bielefeld. There is also a project-website: https://shelter.apgw.de
It is about #infrastructure as #art: For #climate-friendly travels. For local #microadventures. #Socially inclusive and #ecologically reasonable.
I like to see many new public shelter-spaces and trekking-places and I want to build shelters together with you, e.g. on public meadows at the edge of cities.
That's also a bit egoistic because I like to experience self-efficacy while building it, and in the best case, make it experiencable for others, too.
Inspiration and motivation is the impressive culture of public fresh air #tourism in #Denmark. There are hundreds of trekking-places for up to two nights, often with wooden shelter-huts. And: You are allowed to place your tent beside of them, if they are already taken...

I mean in Mastodon i remeber there were a page where you could see ho you are following and when they have posted the last time.
I didnt find anythin similiar in phanpy or elk (or i am blind)
Do you know something similiar? I mean not only for removing dead profiles but sometime you dont realize that somebody moved to a new profile and so you could also check that more easy manually.
