DE STRAAT OP vóór SOLIDARITEIT: VLUCHTELINGEN WELKOM
Donderdag 21 mei - 18:30 - Utrecht
Na het geweld van de afgelopen weken is het tijd voor een ander geluid. Wij gaan de straat op vóór solidariteit, wij zeggen WEES WELKOM tegen mensen op de vlucht. Want waar je ook vandaan komt, wat voor huidskleur of religie je ook hebt, uiteindelijk willen en verdienen we allemaal hetzelfde. Een veilig huis, een veilige toekomst voor onze kinderen, betaalbare boodschappen.Daarom gaan we naast onze buren staan, of ze nou gevlucht zijn of altijd in een veilig land hebben gewoond, of ze een migratieachtergrond hebben of nooit uit hun geboorteland zijn verhuisd. Een samenleving maak je samen.

After the violence of the past few weeks, it's time for a different voice. We are going out into to streets for solidarity, we say BE WELCOME to people currently fleeing. Because wherever you come from, whatever skin colour or religion you may have, in the end we all want and deserve the same. A safe house, a safe future for our children, affordable groceries.So we stand next to our neighbours, whether they've fled or have always lived in a safe country, whether they have a migration background or have never moved out of their country of birth. Only together we can form a real society.

The Greek state is planning the eviction of “Oi Prosfygika” in Athens, one of the largest self-organized housing communities in Europe. This space represents collective living, social projects, and resistance against displacement.
Since February 5, Aristotelis Chantzis has been on hunger strike. On May 1, Suzon Doppagne joined him. Both are protesting against the impending eviction and for the preservation of the community. But what exactly is Prosfygika?

🌊Nijmegen verzuipt extreemrechts in culturele diversiteit!!!
Aanstaande zaterdag 16 mei organiseert ‘Nationaal Protest’ in meerdere steden demonstraties tegen de opvang van vluchtelingen, ook in Nijmegen. Daar zetten wij een krachtig en positief geluid tegenover.
Wij komen massaal samen om te laten zien waar Nijmegen echt voor staat: solidariteit, menselijkheid, verbondenheid en gastvrijheid. Dit doen we door met een brede coalitie van ruim 40 organisaties een Block Party te organiseren!
We laten cultuur leven en dat gaan we laten zien:
🥁 Neem mee waar je trots op bent zoals een instrument, gedicht of lied
🥘 Neem een lekker hapje mee om te delen
💃 Draag kledij waar je trots op bent
💪 Neem al je vrienden, familie, kennissen, buurtgenoten en je juf mee
🧺 Neem verder vooral kleedjes, flyers en andere dingen mee om je cultuur te delen

Upcoming Saturday 16 May ‘Nationaal Protest’ is organizing anti-immigration demonstrations throughout the country, including in Nijmegen. We counter that with a powerful and positive message. We’re organizing en masse to show what Nijmegen truly stands for: solidarity, humanity, community and hospitality. Together with more than 40 organizations we’re organizing a Block Party!
We’re showing Nijmegen’s cultural diversity:

frankly I am not at all surprised. When github.com got bought, I felt this wasn't a place to stay and looked around where to go in the longer run. gitlab.com wasn't a safe bet already back then - the smell of #enterprise/ #corporate & #VC #money was strong.
