How can we ask for currency when we have already asked so much so many times?
Why don't we "just get a job"?
We believe firmly and resolutely that the work we are doing to survive will beget the ability to thrive. And in turn, the work we do to thrive will beget the ability to function. And when we have a functioning home, we can build a functioning lab. And with a functioning lab, we can build a functioning gene editing system.
Being forced to move out into an unready school bus two years ago was not just a challenge, it was a hammer blow that could have spelled the end of our efforts. It could have been easy for us to throw in the towel and return to whence we came. But we aren't like that. And freedom of any kind is not what you should just give up on, let alone freedom of form.
Although we have tried on a few occasions to find employment to supplement income and raise funds for more than just the bare minimum, we have repeatedly found that the job market is an uncaring disastrous mess that takes away more than unemployment does, because when you account for commutes, taxes and payroll fuckery, not to mention bureaucracy and sheer low wages, and the instability of gig roles, and of course AI, it becomes far more favourable to use our precious time on improving our situation directly than gamble it on that shitfest.
Do we feel any guilt asking for help with money? Only insomuch as those who are sending it might be putting yourselves into financial problems by doing so (please only send what you can afford to send). Because we know we are using it for the most honest purposes we can, unlike so many other possible places that money could have gone. And one day our work may help you.
And one day maybe we will see the end of capitalism and not need arbitrary tokens of exchange for basic goods and services.

The unbearable cost of surviving in Gaza
•• In Gaza, a 75-amp battery can cost up to 10,000 shekels — around $3,300.
Imagine that.
A mobile phone screen that once cost around $50 before the war can now cost $400.
A 1,000-liter water tank that used to cost around $40 can now cost more than $300, even when it is second-hand.
These are not luxuries. They are basic necessities: electricity, communication, and clean water.
Yet their prices have become unimaginable while our sources of income have disappeared.
Every day, families in Gaza are forced to make impossible choices: food or water, medicine or electricity, repairing a phone or feeding their children.
How can a family survive when the cost of almost everything has multiplied while there is little or no income?
For my family, this is our daily reality. We are trying to provide food, clean water, and basic necessities for our children while living through conditions that have made ordinary life almost impossible.

It's a tea-saster! A catastroph-tea! Atha, whose vessel origin is British, is left without a working electric kettle after the Vulpibus kettle was damaged by fire, by chemicals and by falling. Seriously, that kettle has seen some things.
Can we get a new one? The cheap plastic ones start from like $14, a metal one that might last longer is probably a bit pricier.
And maybe a pizza? It's been months since the Vulpibus folks enjoyed one.

Einer medizinischen Fachangestellten (MFA) wurde nach schwerer Krankheit überraschend fristlos gekündigt und ihr wurde der Großteil ihres letzten Monatslohnes nicht ausgezahlt. Der Arbeitgeber unterließ es zudem, sie auf die Pflicht zur Meldung bei der Agentur für Arbeit hinzuweisen. Da sie über ihre Ansprüche auf Arbeitslosengeld nicht Bescheid wusste geriet sie in finanzielle Schwierigkeiten. Nach einer Beratung und entsprechenden Geltendmachung konnte eine für die betroffene zufriedenstellende außergerichtliche Einigung erzielt werden. Eine Spendensammlung innerhalb unserer Basisgewerkschaft konnte zudem die konkrete Notlage abwenden.💪Solidarität ist unsere Stärke und Klasse!

Fundraising campaign update
Hey everyone, so today I wanted to provide an update to our GoFundMe campaign! We’re currently 21 percent of the way towards our initial fundraising goal. The campaign has seen a lot of clicks and interest, but progress has been slower than expected. If you’ve already donated or shared the link, thank you. TheNwothm is an 100% independent non-profit project run entirely by volunteers from around the world. Since launching in 2023, we’ve covered hundreds of bands through news, reviews and interviews. Our aim is to give artists a platform and keep traditional heavy metal alive.
