We were late on rent the last 2 months and landlords had floated the spectre of eviction, so we'd really rather not be late for next month...

about us: @DionTheBlackDragon and me are two trans, disabled, neurodivergent abuse survivors who fled terf island (UK) and germany respectively to Finland. He's an artist and musician, writer and coder, I'm an abuse/trauma survivor activist, climate justice activist and life coach.

We're now two months behind on rent. If we could at least make a partial payment, that would buy us some goodwill/leniency from the landlords. EDIT: After negotiating with landlords, eviction is no longer imminent, but we still definitely need to pay our two months of overdue rent ASAP to keep it that way. When I started my #Patreon campaign for my translations of German folk tales, I set it up to charge my followers per "content post", since I wasn't sure whether I could maintain a pace of at least 1,000 new words of translations and commentary every week.

More than seven years late, I can now say with confidence: Yes, I can.

Meanwhile, in November Patreon will deprecate the "per post" model, due some mandatory pricing policies by #Apple (it's complicated). As a result, I will have to switch to a "monthly payment" system. My new prices will be:

Explorer: $4/month (subscribers will get my latest translation)
Scholar: $8/month (subscriber will also get book manuscripts as well as a "Master Volume" in PDF and EPUB formats which collects all my translations)
Explorer: $20/month (subscribers will get to make suggestions for new topics and translations)

However, this changeover is also a good opportunity to check for new #crowdfunding platforms - these days, it is never wise to use a single platform for everything. AFAIK few other crowdfunding platforms use the Patreon-type "tier" system. Thus, I will use the equivalent of the "Scholar" tier for these platforms, since this gives subscribers access to my entire backlog of translations without me having to copy all my old posts over to the new platform.

Thus, my requirements for new crowdfunding platforms are:

- A monthly payment system
- Posts that are restricted to subscribers, and which can include attachments
