DiscogsDienstag: The Jesus & Mary Chain – Stoned & Dethroned

The performance is somewhat legendary, it featured not only guest vocalist, the late Kirsty Maccoll, but also The Clash’s Joe Strummer follows on to perform a brilliant cover of ‘London Calling’. Love this cover of "A Rainy Night in Soho". That line "you're the measure of my dreams" puts a lump in my throat & breaks my heart 💔 🇮🇪 🍀 Can't wait to hear the other covers!

“His soul was filled with the transgressive and ecstatic properties of the saints,” said Springsteen. “I don’t know who’ll be listening to my music in 100 years, but I know they’ll be listening to Shane’s.”

One of my regrets is never having seen The Pogues play live. There is enormous energy from their recorded work: live must have been something else.
