ENDING FAT INSTABILITY
For the first time in a long, long life, I feel stable.
It is boring sometimes.
There is less drama, less urgency, less emotional weather pretending to be meaning.
But in a million years, I would not go back.
I would not go back to the fat instability of mind and body.
Six years of fasting have made the body lighter.
A year and a half of breathwork has made the mind quiet.
Routine has made the days trustworthy.
There is coffee in hand, a warm fire, Pete nearby, the dogs moving through the morning, and a body that no longer feels like an emergency waiting to happen.
None of this is glamorous.
It is simply a life that no longer needs to keep exploding into illness, falls, and confusion to prove that I am alive.
Sometimes peace is boring.
Good.
Boring is underrated.

Chaque fois qu'un membre important du Congrès étatsunien tient des propos antisémites, on voit fleurir des slogans « Je soutiens Israël ». Mais jamais « Je m'oppose à l'antisémitisme ». Voici pourquoi.
Les chrétien·nes évangélistes croient en une apocalypse où il faut envoyer tou·tes les Juifs/ves dans un israël *historique* (y compris des parties du Liban et de la Syrie d'aujourd'hui). C'est alors que les chrétien·nes évangélistes pourront provoquer "l'enlèvement" où seul·es les chrétien·nes évangélistes seront "sauvées".
Cette croyance justifie d'être à la fois antisémite et islamophobe. Elle permet d'amalgamer antisionisme et antisémitisme de gauche, de les condamner et de justifier un antisémitisme nationaliste : chacun·e "chez soi".

L’universitaire israélien Benjamin Beit-Hallahmi écrivait, à propos de l’Afrique du Sud de l’apartheid dans les années 1960 — 1980 : « On peut détester les juifs et aimer les Israéliens, parce que, quelque part, les Israéliens ne sont pas juifs. Les Israéliens sont des colons et des combattants, comme les Afrikaners. Ils sont durs et résistants. Ils savent comment dominer. » Contrairement, poursuit-il, à une vision des juifs que véhicule une certaine imagerie (et les antisémites) : « Le refus de s’affirmer par la force physique, une certaine passivité, un côté intellectuel. Ainsi, on peut détester les juifs tout en admirant les Israéliens. »
