  1. #MissKittyArt will be talking about #art today cuz she is giving it up for herself. It's been hard to turn that corner cuz I have been so sure of certain things that didn't happen regarding getting support for ending #homelessness. Have to reload me so I can reload that. Should be fun! Boop boop 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

  4. There's not enough housing for America's poorest while low-income units sit empty

    By Claire Rush
    September 7, 2026

"Mathew Davis, who lives in a #HomelessShelter in Austin, Texas, would love an apartment of his own. But with the little money he makes donating blood plasma, even a $450-a-month tiny home with no running water and a communal bathroom would be a stretch.

"Meanwhile, over 4,500 units the city classifies as affordable — nearly 16% — sit empty.

" 'I don’t make enough money really to afford anything,' Davis, 49, said of the few hundred dollars he earns a month. 'I just keep trying to swim uphill.'

"The poorest people in the U.S. face the most acute shortages of affordable homes. But the majority of low-income housing financed in recent years is for those earning 50% of an area’s median income or above, according to a survey of state housing agencies.

"Some cities are now seeing an uptick in vacancies as rents for these units approach market rates. The result: Apartments designated as affordable sit empty because the poorest of the poor cannot afford them.

"Meanwhile, some people are forced into #homelessness and others into desperate circumstances to pay for housing they can’t afford."

  26. Lego Skylines devs want your citys problems to be visible without digging into a stats screen, which means finding a "family friendly" version of showing #homelessness

As pretty as Cities: Skylines is, getting a read on your citys problems can take some digging. While traffic jams are immediately visible, prompting you to start reorganising the layout of your streets and bypasses, other issues only make themselves known when you switch on overlays or bring up a stats screen. Changing that is one developer Iceflake Studios aims for colourful plastic brick-based spinoff Lego Skylines. "If theres an issue, it should be visible in the world," game director Lasse Liljedahl tells me. "Everything that you need to worry about or manage is something you should see while zooming in and zooming out and not digging deep in statistics or information screens. Thats the goal." Read more

  36. I don't know. I can't call that important in the way I was thinking about it so I don't think that's it. And since #meditation has not revealed yet the origin of this need, it's really bothering me because I have put so much effort in for over 4 years to talk ending #homelessness. I didn't die.

  37. Helping to end #homelessness would qualify as big thing that had been on my mind well into my twenties until it disappeared until it reappeared at 61 years old when I was #homeless. It HAPPENED to me. I didn't think this thought. It landed in my head. It was like watching a Lotus open and explain.

  38. #Likes & #reposts (Google's voice recognition is terminally bad. Probably intentionally.) are not what I was after, nor were #followers. I was looking for #adoption. I was looking to get a chance to go #consult and make it happen anywhere. The end of #homelessness is the beginning of #civilization.
