#Illegal2BHomeless AND protest in #PDX #Portland yet #TheSilenceContinuesI heard back from the City Administrator’s Office/Portland Solutions.
Their explanation is that the site was assessed as a campsite because pitched tents were present. Staff also noted that the tents appeared to be associated with a protest, but the City’s position is that the protest messaging does not change the campsite/removal process when the action is based on content-neutral factors like pitched tents in a pedestrian plaza, ADA access, maintenance access, and public space rules.
They also said the site was scored as high impact under the Impact Reduction Program’s assessment process, which triggered the work order for the notice.
I want to be clear that I’m sharing the City’s explanation, not endorsing the sweep or making a legal determination myself. Councilor Kanal remains strongly opposed to sweeps and continues to believe the City should be moving away from these practices. Based on what we received, the City is treating this specific notice as an application of its campsite and public space rules rather than as an action based on the content of the protest message.

Everyone exept #homeless people. This tent is illegal in public space from 8am to 8pm in #Portland #PDX and they steal them about once a week. The way they get around the theft of not having a warrent is they "keep things for 30 days".

I've been in the war for almost 15 years and have seen it get worse every day.
Just since Trump and Project2025, ALL homeless people are ether drunks, drug addicts, mentally ill or a combination of all 3.
If your not part of the system, Dems and Repubs have been trying to criminalize people since at least 1991 when the US Citizens where OK with murdering people for CRUD oil (I'm a Desert Storm vet).
With the terrorist, Trump, it has become OK to hunt and murder groups of people and every group is under attack from them. What gets me most is that when it comes to homeless people, it has become "who cares", we are totally ignored in every way possible even though we are getting attacked in the same was as every other group.
That spawned this:
The silence is deafening. Always hearing about this country or that one, this group or that one but the silence continues for #homeless people.
(Amendment I) Sorry, you don't have the right to assemble in public space even in protest because your homeless.
(Amendment IV) Sorry, you don't have the right to be served a search warrant when we steal your only way to stay warm and dry.
(Amendment VIII) Sorry, your under arrest for trying to survive in public spaces in the middle of winter/heatwave after the city/state/federal has taken everything from you and there is absolutely no place to go to get out of the weather.
A short time ago, #Trump decided that 771,000 people have no US Constitution rights when he declared it #Illegal2BHomeless across the entire country. Not only do we now have to be on the lookout for city cops, sheriffs, state cops, National Guards that also forgot the oath we say when joining the US Military, we have to be looking for every day haters who won't hesitate to kill us for simply not having a paid for place to live.
But the silence continues.

My almost 15 years in over 20 cities, ive seen a lot of BS.
One that is happing in PortlandOR is closing places that try to help and increasing sweeping people down the road or even into jail/concetration camps.
Portland has had 2 Dem mayors, both of them may as well be part of the MAGA cult that is getting people killed.
Just having a tent in public space from 8am to 8pm is illegal, doesnt matter if its 40 degrees or 90.
Im into my 4th day of protesting against anti homeless laws i call #Illegal2BHomeless but no one cares and that gave me #TheSilenceContinues

Last fall, i was the only protester for a #StopTheSweeps and got swept 3 times. This morning I and one other vet started this illegal protest. Illegal because #Portland OR says i cant have a tent in public space from 8am to 8pm.
