To be clear, I got a security guard fired for harassing an encampment that was already being targeted by assholes, such as the pair who fired PAINT BALL GUNS at them in the middle of the night, and whose residents just experienced an encampment fire.
The security company has not returned.
Mr. WhatAreYaGonnaDoAboutIt just gave me the tools to do it with.
Until there are better systems in place, sometimes you just have to work with what you're given.

Proposition 37 only applies to newly built homes, so it aims at adding housing, not just adding bidders for the same short supply. Up to $25 billion in loans, repaid by the homeowners who use them.

We all share a 15-acre Georgian mansion for the price of a two-bed house
Natalie Grice, 29 August 2026
"Dreams of living in a Georgian manor house with 15 acres of grounds would usually be associated with a big lottery win.
"But for the residents of Dol-llys Hall on the outskirts of Llanidloes, Powys, no windfall was necessary.
"The Grade II listed building is home to a collection of ordinary people who have chosen to live cooperatively - sharing responsibility for maintaining the home and its grounds and trying to live as sustainably as possible.
" 'You have got a ready-made village mentality where people just help each other out,' says Louise Robinson, one of the longest serving of 10 residents at the hall.
" 'There's six other flats going 'what can we do?' And that means a lot."
Louise Nicholson is a middle-aged white woman with shoulder length dark grey hair. She wears grey framed photo-reactive glasses, a light blue v-neck t-shirt with a lily pad white emblem on the front. She is smiling at the camera. Behind her is the main entrance to Dol-llys Hall. There are two dark wooden doors with arched fanlights above which open from the middle of a curved porch-type entrance. The building is painted yellowy-cream. There are arched windows to the left of the door visible. A mop handle and a piece of wooden furniture can be seen to the right of the doors."The hall, which has served as a school and a care home as well as a former stately home over the years, now holds seven flats within its walls and a number of #communal living areas and #SharedFacilities like washing machines and heating.
"Louise first came across Dol-llys after she was made redundant from her insurance job in London. She found herself spending more and more time away from the city, enjoying walking in the rural countryside, and realised she wanted to live there permanently.
" 'I'm a single person, so moving to a country village on your own is not that easy,' she says.
" 'Somebody mentioned [intentional] communities and said 'have you heard about them?''
"After investigating quite a few, she knew she did not want to live somewhere where she only had a bedroom and everything else was shared. And at Dol-llys, where she moved in early 2020, she found the perfect combination of community and privacy.
" 'We term ourselves as #cohousing, because we all have our separate flats,' she says, and that the set-up is not a commune.
" 'We share the grounds, we share the common rooms, we share responsibilities and decision-making, but we all have our front doors, which I think is important to everybody who chooses to live here.' "

‘We can’t wait’: Why this Toronto non-profit is rushing to build a #MicroShelter community
The city says it can’t find land for micro shelters, so #TinyTinyHomes found its own. Now the non-profit is fundraising to build a 10-shelter community by the end of the year
“Winter is coming up again and people will be outside again this winter. So we can’t wait,” said Donais.

#KitchenerON - Building for the Future!
#Engagewr has been described as "the closest thing the Region has to participatory democracy, in that it posts projects that the cities/townships/region are working on and solicits feedback from the people living there / using the amenities to guide the ways in which they are doing the project."
Welcome to Kitchener 2051!
"As Kitchener grows to become a city of up to 450,000 people, we need a new plan. A new Official Plan will guide growth and shape the way that neighbourhoods evolve and change. The new Official Plan needs to be ambitious and clear in our intentions as we plan for the Kitchener of 2051.
Kitchener 2051 is about the people who call Kitchener home today and in the future
That includes #IndigenousPeople, #newcomers, longtime residents, business owners and entrepreneurs. It’s about our community today but also about the people who are not yet here. Like the young people who will grow old in our community, the family looking to move to Kitchener, or the student who will call our community home after graduation. Kitchener 2051 looks at how we move around the city and the places in between. It is about what we will need to do together to grow, adapt, and succeed in a #resilient and complete city.
Kitchener 2051 needs to consider a full range of perspectives to ensure that the Official Plan reflects the needs of all. This includes communities often underrepresented in these processes, like equity-denied communities, renters, and people who have experienced #homelessness, #poverty and #HousingPrecarity.
Along the way, we will learn from the community as we shape an Official Plan that reflects who we are, what we value, and the Kitchener we can become."

#KitchenerON - Building for the Future!
#Engagewr has been described as "the closest thing the Region has to participatory democracy, in that it posts projects that the cities/townships/region are working on and solicits feedback from the people living there / using the amenities to guide the ways in which they are doing the project."

How many investors are concerned about #homelessness? If caring means their conscience needs them to put their investment property onto the long term rental market, at affordable rates for Aussies needing a stable #home? 🤔
#HousingForAll
#LongTermRentalsNeededNow #auspol -
Long term rentals that last only a year - are short term to this long term renters view. The best rentals let you stay forever - and make the place your home. Rental housing is “home” for renters. Do wealthy property investors have a conscience? At all? 🤨 #ethicalinvestment 🤨 #HousingForAll #auspol

Full Democratic control of government would mean an improved chance of #HousingForAll being enacted, which would be peaceful.
