To be clear, I got a security guard fired for harassing an encampment that was already being targeted by assholes, such as the pair who fired PAINT BALL GUNS at them in the middle of the night, and whose residents just experienced an encampment fire.
The security company has not returned.
Mr. WhatAreYaGonnaDoAboutIt just gave me the tools to do it with.
Until there are better systems in place, sometimes you just have to work with what you're given.

"Dreams of living in a Georgian manor house with 15 acres of grounds would usually be associated with a big lottery win.
"But for the residents of Dol-llys Hall on the outskirts of Llanidloes, Powys, no windfall was necessary.
"The Grade II listed building is home to a collection of ordinary people who have chosen to live cooperatively - sharing responsibility for maintaining the home and its grounds and trying to live as sustainably as possible.
" 'You have got a ready-made village mentality where people just help each other out,' says Louise Robinson, one of the longest serving of 10 residents at the hall.
" 'There's six other flats going 'what can we do?' And that means a lot."
Louise Nicholson is a middle-aged white woman with shoulder length dark grey hair. She wears grey framed photo-reactive glasses, a light blue v-neck t-shirt with a lily pad white emblem on the front. "Louise first came across Dol-llys after she was made redundant from her insurance job in London. She found herself spending more and more time away from the city, enjoying walking in the rural countryside, and realised she wanted to live there permanently.
" 'I'm a single person, so moving to a country village on your own is not that easy,' she says.
" 'Somebody mentioned [intentional] communities and said 'have you heard about them?''
"After investigating quite a few, she knew she did not want to live somewhere where she only had a bedroom and everything else was shared. And at Dol-llys, where she moved in early 2020, she found the perfect combination of community and privacy.
" 'We term ourselves as #cohousing, because we all have our separate flats,' she says, and that the set-up is not a commune.
" 'We share the grounds, we share the common rooms, we share responsibilities and decision-making, but we all have our front doors, which I think is important to everybody who chooses to live here.' "

"But the program, #EmergencyHousingVouchers, is running out of money — and quickly.
"Funding is expected to be used up by the end of next year, according to a letter from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and obtained by The Associated Press. That would leave tens of thousands across the country scrambling to pay their rent.

In about 15 mins I have to dip briefly for a protest (there are 2 other LOs here rn), but the residents have approved the callout for more bodies on the ground for the pending clearing that the motherfuckers absolutely confirmed is happening.
Unfriendly reminder that at St Stephen's, the motherfuckers waited us out and didn't do THAT clearing until night.
Apparently, the City needs the park empty to "repair the grass and fix the paving stones".

Couldn't have asked for a lovelier day to do some winterizing at an encampment.
Today's project:
Fire deflector.The heat from fire pits is mostly lost because it goes straight up. A simple combination of threaded rods, nuts, and a pizza pan can make a world of difference to those relying on it to LITERALLY STAY ALIVE.
FUCK I HATE CAPITALISM.
This cost me about $22 and 15 minutes with a friend, not $299.

Anyway, I am blessed enough to have a warm bed to go to, and I am going to try not to go to it while raging at the sheer obstinate, disgusting, selfishness that is capitalism.
*Tip: Reflectix or the generic equivalent (the kind I have to drop off is "Resisto") is very helpful in reducing conductive heat loss when sleeping on the ground.

Some days really just take it out of you.
Been trying to get a replacement tent for someone who lost it all in a fire, only to find out that the person has second snd third degree burns and won't be there tonight as a result.
I really wish the right people (in this context) would spend 5 fucking minutes pondering the shitshow that is society and how precarious it is for MOST OF US.
Honestly.
So much of this could be fixed if only people weren't walking around with blinders on 24/7.I wish I knew how to get people to give up their core need to only "allow" things to be "fixed" as long as nothing actually changes.
