Portraits of corruption. Notice how the necktie plays into the illusion that these are respectable, upright people, as is generally its purpose. If these creatures, regardless what they ultimately turn out to have been, were treated like target organisms in the development of a vaccine, they would be cooked, or radiated, or something until they were no longer viable, and their parts would become identifiable to antibodies. But you can't just key on the necktie or too many innocents would be targeted too. I key on their arrogance, and their taking of what does not belong to them. The Cumbrian village of Dent once had its own vampire. After dying at the suspiciously advanced age of 94, a local man was spotted around the village and seen feasting on sheep's blood. One farmer shot a black hare and followed it back to the man's old house. Peering through the window, he saw the man bandaging a gunshot wound. The villagers dug the body up and found the man looked pink and healthy and that his hair and nails had grown. He was reburied beneath a slab-like tombstone, through which a metal pole was thrust into his heart. A stump of this pole can still be seen in the tombstone today. Some claim the tombstone is a reused gate post and the 'pole' is the remains of a hinge and that the stone itself gave rise to the vampire legend.
