#PennedPossibilities 1083 — Are you pleased with the way the various relationships between the cast of characters are developing throughout your WIP?
I am. For once, I’m incredibly satisfied with the direction things are taking. I also have new chapters to eventually upload to AO3, but only after proofreading and heavily editing them, of course. We have a lot of friendships, tentative alliances, and a few romantic relationships that are either strengthening or blossoming and growing.

It's used as either an oath of honesty & no trickery, or as a warning 'don't try to deceive me'.Lyshí second in line to the Silver-Ash throne, early in her career as a liaison to the Sídhe Courts, would invite Medb along as an advisor (read bullshit detector). At some point it became a thing to say "We have a Wolf at Court, shall I consult her?" if someone wanted to call someone else's bluff.
Which gave rise to "Wolf at Court."

This world is just ours with supernatural creatures sprinkled in. The only other difference is that it’s the Victorian era.
Also, none of my characters play fair. A lot of love cheating. But that’s neither here nor there because I’m referring to the general state of things with those statements, not sports. And I would love to see a huge football or rugby match between the cast. Heck yes.

Funny you say that. One of my side projects for #RidersOfTheDream series is logos for each of the #werewolf clans, and one for Medb / the Rhai'r-tír people.
Grab a drink...
It started as a possible book cover idea featuring the logos/clan symbols for the major parties involved in the story. And secondary as a visual shorthand of their personalities.
— Medb is a decently detailed manuscript/coat of arms style wolf head with orange eyes. It's looking to the left which visually is typical for denoting looking into the past, while the style and detailing impart a sense that she's from an older time & complex for it .
— Trinity / Clan Tsagaansoyoo is a large crescent moon with a stylistic simple wolf head that looks aggressive and is pointing to the right. The implications being Trinity is always looking at the next acquisition of power, the next chess move. She's one of the most powerful full blood #Werewolves in The Dream hence the large crescent, and as complex as her schemes tend to be, the end meta goal is relatively simple.
— Riker Tiberius/ Clan Tiberius: Riker is conceited, arrogant, and short sighted; so the logo always looks right at the viewer. He is also very angry with being disowned and exiled from Clan Kérberos, the many sharp points and vexed visage . Stripped of his last name he named his clan after what used to be his middle name, thus the prominent T which also hints that being stripped of the Kérberos name is always on his mind.
— I haven't gotten to the Clan Kérberos logo, but tentative design is a wolf head looking left, another looking right, and an owl head in the center. Representing the Clan's diarchy of Antigone & Demitrius (other clans are ruled by a single person), and their daughter Sophitia who handles their armed forces and the intelligence unit The Striges (she lovingly refers to the members as her 'owls'). The logo if I do it right will visually be a mid point between Medb's logo and the simpler styling of the others, a subtle nod that Kérberos purposely keeps it's self neutral among the clans. -

Fenella: My destination is where I currently am. The journey I’ve taken over the last nine years has brought me here. I’ve come to realize, however, that the journey itself is long from over. There are things afoot here in Moray, terrible things, and it will be some time before I’ve found my peace, or Alistair has found his. There is one thing that I’ve neglected to mention, but Alistair is also a destination for me. He is home. He is my home. Things need to change, though. His attitude towards life is first on the list. He’s too reckless. And there are things that he’s keeping from me, and I want to know. I need to know why he’s chosen to keep secrets. We were lovers. Best friends, even. I was always under the impression that we told one another everything. How could I have been so blind? After my goal is achieved, I have no idea what I plan to do... We shall all find out together, I suppose.
