@jmac Must admit I wasn't super familiar with this one before the Paddington film, but "London Is the Place for Me": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63YjPa1-McY This is emblematic of a really important transitional time in the UK, the post-war #windrush migration from the (ex-)colonies to devastated English cities. The Windrush Compensation Scheme denied compensation to 2/3 of applicants, but those who appealed with legal advice/support received much larger settlements.
The Govt. may now claim the scheme is being differently managed, but you can see why the Tories didn't want applicants to get legal aid...
As with the Post Office scandal/criminal actions, its yet more evidence of how state institutions callously chew up normal folk.
