  1. Good news from Zurich: the #Beyer #Clock and #Watch #Museum will survive the closure of the historic Beyer Chronometrie shop.

The retailer is closing at the end of 2026 after 266 years because no successor could be found within the family. Patek Philippe is taking over the company and its prestigious Bahnhofstrasse premises, but the museum itself is not part of that transaction.

Its internationally significant collection of around 1,600 objects will remain in the Beyer family and move to the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen in #Zurich. Reopening is planned for autumn 2027.

The move also means considerably more space: around 400 m² instead of 133 m². Some 350 objects will be displayed, compared with roughly 270 today, with more room for temporary exhibitions and selected electronic timepieces.

Until 30 October 2026, the museum can still be visited at its original Bahnhofstrasse location.
