NavStar navigation bar hiding issue will be fixed with One UI 9.0

After the release of One UI 8.5, users with NavStar were encountering an issue where the navigation bar wouldn’t hide when using the button hide function, unless the user has pulled down the notification bar. As soon as the notification bar gets pulled, the navigation bar would disappear.

This issue affects phones and tablets, and for tablet users, it’s a bit inconvenient having to pull down the notification bar in order for the navigation bar to disappear, since tablets have large screens.

Good Lock Team from Samsung has now confirmed the issue directly through Samsung Members that the issue will be fixed through a software update to One UI 9.0, which contains fixes related to this issue.

However, the stable rollout of One UI 9.0 hasn’t started yet, and the beta program is about to expand to other Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold7, Z Fold7, and possibly other devices. Meanwhile, One UI 9.0 is already available in rhe newest foldables that were announced in this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event.

To update your Galaxy to One UI 9.0 once the stable rollout begins, follow these steps:

1. Open Settings, and navigate to System Update
2. Tap on Check for Updates
3. Press Download and Install
4. Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Reboot Now
5. Wait until the phone reboots successfully

Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. An update might take 10 to 20 minutes to apply, depending on the device and the type of the update being applied.

Terminaux 8.7, which is set to release August 20th, will contain breaking changes that will affect how your Terminaux-powered applications function. The refactors that we’ve done to Nitrocid earlier, which is part of an effort to modernize the Nitrocid codebase, have necessitated those breaking changes that were made to Terminaux.

Those breaking changes were made to different components, including the shell command handling mechanism. The necessary classes have been migrated to make sure that easier command definition is possible. Instead of trying to maintain a large array of commands, which can be troublesome in large shells, such as Nitrocid’s UESH shell, we let you define the command settings and parameters in the class itself.

We will let you know of those details as we finish working on the documentation in coming days.

Meanwhile, Terminaux 8.7 will be used in the release candidate of the upcoming Nitrocid version, which will be released this September 24th, as we continue to modernize the codebase and to fix possible design flaws so that Nitrocid becomes faster and more reliable than before.

The YouTube app for Android has been updated, and I think it's awful. Everything is completely inconsistent and no longer intuitive at all, especially when streaming something to a smart TV via the app.

It’s super cumbersome to clear the current playlist. Before, all you had to do was swipe the video thumbnail down (off-screen) to clear the playlist and stop the stream.

Plus, the app now jumps to the home screen as soon as you switch between Light and Dark modes.

Why would they “improve” something that worked just fine before? Especially since there aren’t any apparent new features at all. Absolutely unnecessary and annoying. What on earth is going on at Google?...

Galaxy Watch5 receives the August 2026 update, starting from Korea

Earlier, Samsung distributed the One UI 8.0 Watch July 2026 security patch to the Galaxy Watch8, Watch7, and Watch6, to make them more secure. Today, Samsung has begun distributing the Galaxy Watch5 update that upgrades your watch’s security, according to Alfatürk. Interestingly, this update brings the August 5th security patch level instead of the July 5th patch level.

Currently, the update begins its rollout from Korea, but the US, India, and other countries should receive the update soon. This update is based on One UI 8.0 Watch, which was released last December.

The firmware build information for this update is found below:

To obtain the update, follow these steps:
