  4. KDE Plasma 6.7 Beta is now available!

The beta version of KDE Plasma v6.7 is now available for developers and curious users to try out. This allows users to get an early look at the upcoming version of KDE Plasma, which brings new features and improvements to existing features.

The official announcement states that the beta version of KDE Plasma 6.7 includes two new modules:

    • plasma-bigscreen
    • union

This version of KDE Plasma uses the new styling engine that is currently under development, Union. This year’s update for Union states that the default input format has been changed from SVG to CSS stylesheets, considering that creating and editing styles were easier with SVG in the first glance until complexities appeared.

This is a promising change that will be integrated with the final release of KDE Plasma 6.7 to ensure that the design of UI elements, such as buttons, combo boxes, and checkboxes, look cleaner and more consistent than before. In this beta version of KDE Plasma, the Union styling is in technical preview.

Alongside the Union theming style is the Plasma Bigscreen, which is made by KDE, and is an open-source TV interface for Linux. This launcher provides you with a TV-friendly interface, which allows you to use it comfortably on your television. It also supports multiple input methods, such as your keyboard and mouse, your TV controller, and your phone.

Not only that, but Plasma Bigscreen allows you to customize it to make your TV truly yours. You’ll be able to customize your system and install your favorite applications in your heart’s content.

Other changes that are introduced with KDE Plasma 6.7 can be seen here.

  20. EXCLUSIVE: Upcoming changes to Aptivi Blog for June 2026

Since the inception of our Aptivi Blog website that contains tech news, tech experiments, and Aptivi project news, we’re almost reaching two thousand posts about those subjects. This blog has started when we needed to share our solutions and experiences about different aspects of tech, including computers and phones, while seeking for more visibility, and WordPress was selected as a blogging platform. Over the years, WordPress received countless updates that revolutionized how we make presses about tech news and project news.

Aptivi Blog has started on March 1st, 2019, back when we were still a small online community that shared solutions to the world through various means, such as forums, and when we didn’t have a professional name. Since 2014, we’ve always been providing the best solutions to our fellow computer users, but we didn’t have a proper homepage back then, so we didn’t have proper internet presence.

Now, we have a welcoming tech community that shared their experiences with us and appreciated our work. As we’re approaching a new, redefined era, we’ll be making changes to our blog, starting June 2026, that will make it easier to use.

    • The homepage will be even more welcoming than before. It will show you a quick glimpse of Aptivi’s history, and it will have a redesigned homepage that shows categories more clearly.
    • We will make contacting us more welcoming than before, with reworded phrases.
    • We will improve the design of the blog post reader with several key changes.
    • We will categorize more blog posts with subsections to make finding relevant content even faster.
    • We will introduce weekly and monthly digests that revolve around the whole Aptivi, not just the blog, including new project releases and new posts from both the main blog and the Newsroom.
    • …and so much more to come.

Starting June 2026, we will start the blog overhaul to make sure that we give our users the best experience possible, while obtaining the latest news from us. We hope that you like the changes!

Thank you to all our readers and our subscribers who read, liked, and commented on our posts; we really appreciate all of you, and this encourages us to continue providing the latest tech news, experiments, and Aptivi news!
