Using OnePlus 13 as a minimalist computer. I love this set up. I don't use a thunderbolt. I just have a USBC to USBC to my external 15.6 inch monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Works great. I have a generic port deck when needed for printers and other peripherals when needed. You can find lots of videos and 'how to's.' I don't game. Anyone else have any nest stories to share of this setup? What's your variation?

To koniec pewnej epoki w świecie technologii mobilnych. Wszystko wskazuje na to, że niedawne, nieoficjalne doniesienia o wycofaniu marki OnePlus z kluczowych rynków zachodnich znalazły swoje ostateczne potwierdzenie.
Marka, która dekadę temu wywołała gigantyczne trzęsienie ziemi na rynku smartfonów, odchodzi w ciszy, całkowicie wchłonięta przez struktury swojego właściciela, koncern Oppo. Dla milionów użytkowników to bolesny dowód na to, że w świecie masowej elektroniki nie ma już miejsca na bezkompromisowy bunt.
OnePlus ma zniknąć z Europy i USA. Doniesienia wskazują na koniec kultowej marki
Dla nas, konsumentów, ta strata ma wymiar symboliczny. OnePlus udowodnił niegdyś, że topowy smartfon z Androidem nie musi kosztować fortuny, a nakładka systemowa może być czysta, lekka i pozbawiona producenckich śmieci. Ostateczny upadek tej marki to wyraźny sygnał, że rynek został zabetonowany, a alternatywne, mniejsze projekty są skazane na unifikację.
Od pogromcy flagowców do korporacyjnej unifikacji
Droga OnePlusa na szczyt była jedną z najbardziej fascynujących historii w branży. Kiedy w 2014 roku debiutował OnePlus One, kupić można go było wyłącznie za pomocą specjalnego systemu zaproszeń. Smartfon oferował podzespoły z najwyższej półki za połowę ceny ówczesnych flagowców Samsunga czy HTC. Slogan „Never settle” (nigdy nie idź na kompromis) stał się manifestem społeczności zebranej wokół marki.
Gdzie popełniono błąd?
Proces powolnego umierania marki nie zaczął się dzisiaj, lecz trwał od kilku lat, a jego kamieniami milowymi były konkretne decyzje biznesowe:
- Odejście od korzeni: smartfony z serii OnePlus z każdym rokiem drożały, tracąc swój największy atut, czyli bezkonkurencyjny stosunek ceny do jakości.
- Zniszczenie OxygenOS: kultowa, uwielbiana przez technologicznych purystów nakładka systemowa została porzucona na rzecz ColorOS od Oppo, co odebrało urządzeniom ich unikalną tożsamość.
- Odejście lidera: Carl Pei, współzałożyciel i twarz sukcesu marki, opuścił firmę, by założyć Nothing – projekt, który dziś próbuje przejąć osieroconych fanów OnePlusa.
Ostateczna integracja z Oppo zredukowała OnePlusa do roli podmarki tworzącej powtarzalne smartfony, które w 2026 roku straciły rację bytu w portfolio chińskiego giganta.
Rynek smartfonów potrzebuje konkurencji
Zniknięcie OnePlusa z Europy i Stanów Zjednoczonych to zła wiadomość dla całego ekosystemu Androida. Konkurencja stymuluje innowacje i powstrzymuje największych graczy przed drastycznym podnoszeniem cen. Gdy z planszy znika tak rozpoznawalny podmiot, przestrzeń między Apple a Samsungiem staje się jeszcze mniejsza.
Wielu dawnych fanów marki z nadzieją patrzy teraz w kierunku wspomnianego Nothing czy Google z linią Pixel. Żadna z tych marek nie ma jednak w sobie tego specyficznego, surowego charakteru, który charakteryzował pierwsze smartfony OnePlusa. Legenda umarła nie z powodu huku wystrzału, ale w wyniku cichego podpisania korporacyjnych dokumentów w biurach BBK Electronics.

@SomeGadgetGuy Been using the OnePlus 13 since launch and most of my family is on OnePlus, sad to see them leave. The competition situation is unfortunately not any better here in Canada either but even though the idea of importing an overseas model seems tempting, carriers have been known to do shitty things which can cause VoLTE/5G connectivity issues for devices not meant for the Canada/US market.
The idea that it's mainly Apple, Google and Samsung being the real alternative kinda sucks but here we are. Yes I know Motorola and Nothing exists but Motorola is mainly budget tier and even their higher end stuff has weak update policies. Nothing is just very niche, who knows how long they'd last as well. Their update policy is even weaker than OnePlus..
iPhone unfortunately isn't an option for me, I daily it for work, iOS simply isn't for me. Love the hardware, don't like the OS.
