#Holos joining #FDroid will be another challenge.
I personally want to encourage everyone to use their own custom domain to fully own their Fediverse identity. You can also use your own S3/WebDAV for backups and media hosting.
This setup means no dependency on a relay.
If the relay goes down, if you get blocked, or if you want to move, you keep your full identity.
This F-Droid release should help attract more users and bring in more feedback to move the project forward.

#HolosSocial will soon reach #Fdroid official builds and also be available on Google Play. For #iOS, it is already on TestFlight and #Altstore.

The relay has been reduced to its minimum of dependencies, but remains necessary. Currently, only https://holos.social exists.

You could host a relay in a different region (currently Europe). The goal is not to have one big relay with smaller ones around it.

Wondered why my images folder is so huge. Turns out there's a hidden .recycle folder used by Samba/CIFS to act as network level trash bin. You know… in case someone deletes something from a network share by accident.

So all the time I was freeing up space on purpose I ended up with an additional copy on the remote fs 😩

"Free" in English is almost a double entendre when it comes to software. While we know what F in #FOSS means, we need to reach users out there who don't. #FLOSS was created so the focus is moved from monetary value back to "freedom".

Software is not created in a void, it takes contributor time and attention to be able to maintain, update and improve it.

The #OTF grant allowed #FDroid to explore how to get sustainable funding and report our findings to all.

Uns gestern hab ich den ersten Issue gefixt den zwei Nutzer auf #Codeberg gemeldet haben. I have been using an offline translator from F-Droid repository. One of the newly updated mobile banking App (Canara Bank) denied login saying that Slideloaded application "Translator" is unauthorized and risky. Forcing to uninstall that App to continue Mobile Banking!!

Is this related to Google's devil move of not allowing any apps out of Play Store?

They had a FANTASTIC add-on that showed Artemis' current trajectory. It wasn't a simple arc there and back.

It was so much slower to see unfolding. Was like witnessing a small life boat being sent out into the ocean, riding the open currents.

Another great reason to support a free and open android.
