On Noise Pollution and a Skipped Bike Ride

I know, without a doubt that if I ride with one group, especially if there are only 25 people, that it will be hard. It's because of how hard I know the ride will be that I am not keen to join that group. despite this I still considered going for a bike ride this morning, until noisy neighbours made it impossible for me to have an early night.

There is a bad habit among alcoholics that they need to make noise at night without considering that others may want to sleep. I use the label noot because the people are alcoholics but rather because, in my experience people who behave in a toxic, selfish manner, are usually fuelled by alcohol. They only made noise until midnight but that still scuppered any chance of me going for that ride.

The Morning Fitness Tracker Visible Consequence

Both my Garmin Watch and Suunto watch told me that I was at a medium level of fitness this morning. If I had been able to go to sleep when I had planned to I could have been bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, rather than fatigued.

Cold and Grey

Another factor for my motivation to cycle being low is that it's cold and grey, and that it's a Saturday. When it's cold and grey the roads are still wet and we can feel the cold during the bike ride. I don't need to ride in the morning. I can wait until the afternoon has warmed things up again.

I also have the freedom to ride tomorrow, rather than today. I can wait for the nice weather. On thursday the weather was the best it has been in weeks so I ran. If it had stayed good then I would have been tempted to ride.

Bad weather encourages me to run and walk, rather than cycle.

Tires inflated, Lights Charged and Kit Ready

Last night I had prepared absolutely everything, so I really expected that I would go for a bike ride today. If I had had a good night of sleep, and if I had been well rested then I am almost certain that I would have gone for my bike ride.

Silver Lining

Despite skipping the bike ride I behaved as if I intended to go on the bike ride. I believe that if I had been able to sleep, as desired. I would have gone on the group ride. Since I did not, I am fresh to go for a solo Sunday ride tomorrow, when I feel that roads are safer.

☹️ Yesterday was not one for leaving me feeling positive about the attitude of my fellow Canadians.
1: A stranger made a an assumption and a rude comment about drunk people in public while not understanding since his aneurysm my husband has had a speech problem.
2: A nasty angry selfish woman absolutely refused to move her car from blocking a ramp making it impossible for my husband to enter the building-all because her able bodied friend was inside and she couldn't find a "premium" (her word) parking space. We were late for a medical test and due to their strict no-late policy, had to rebook my husband's appointment for several months from now. (our doctor is very upset)
3: While waiting to be served in a line up at a Timmies, the cashier called out for the person in front of me, whose order was ready and I mentioned he stepped out for a phone call but would return in a minute. She said, "Good that's where THOSE People belong--outside!"
Needless to say I asked for the manager.
