The goal of #voting in #elections is to get the people and policies you actually want. Your #vote increases the chance you wil get what you want.
It is the opposite of #gambling.
When you #gamble, in a #predictions #market for example, you are trying to guess what *other people* want, which might be the exact opposite.
It helps if you remember that #polls were originally conducted by #campaigns to help each #campaign #manager know what strategies are working.
Unless you are running a campaign, you can ignore polling. Especially if you, yourself, don't answer #surveys/polls.

it do kinda be interesting how there is just an expectation with ActivityPub polls that how people voted will be private, most software doesn't expose that, but why?
for such a group of people that constantly demand transparency, this seems like a fix rather than a bug.

I noticed that TikTok supports Polls in Comments by the video creator, and when you comment, it shows the option you voted for.
That is very interesting, but I'm not sure how it would be received if Mastodon users voted on a poll and commented, only for their choice to be public on Loops.
What are your thoughts?
