  1. 20 years since this lad disappeared in #Ipswich - slowly some of the truth of what he had got involved in came to light, and that it is almost certain he is no longer alive - but still noone has been nicked for the #crime

This incident, and #murder later in the year of 5 sex workers led to a *massive* clampdown on #nightlife and #partydrugs across #Suffolk and #EastAnglia - which is still present today (and those younger folk whose fun was thwarted as a fallout from these clampdowns are now in middle age, many voting Reform out of spite..)

  6. 'Reform UK has banned newly-elected members charged with running a county council from speaking to journalists, an editor claimed.'

    holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2026/ne

Ipswich.co.uk founder Oliver Rouane-Williams: “When approached by us on results day, a newly elected Reform councillor told us they wanted to engage with this publication but had been told they could not, and that they were only permitted to speak to GB News.”

  7. Ipswich beat QPR 3-0 at Portman Road on 2 May 2026 to clinch 2nd place and automatic promotion. Goals from George Hirst and Jaden Philogene early on sealed it, with Kasey McAteer adding a late 3rd. That result meant they finished runners-up to Coventry City, who had already won the title and promotion...

  9. Once again parts of #OrwellBridge in #Ipswich #Suffolk closed due to rush hour #collision (#car vs #lorry) with one #fatality and one #arrest

if its not possible to quickly reduce #CarDependency (and realistically it is not), nor build the #NorthernBypass - then there's a real need to further encourage #FlexibleWorking and more people to move away from 9-5 working hours - all these crashes seem to happen around rush hour, whereas same #A14 highway is a lot quieter in afternoons and evenings (there's still lorries, but they are more spread out and not so many bottlenecks at the junctions)

  11. All #trafficLights in #Ipswich town centre failed today for a large part of the day.

There has been no statement to the media from #Suffolk County #Council or even the #Police !

It would be extremely unlikely that all the supplies from #UKPowerNetworks failed at the same time as they are from many different feeder pillars and substations - something bad must have happened to the controllers.

Although some #drivers claimed "traffic was flowing better", this will only be the case for dominant traffic flows, and #pedestrians would have struggled to find opportunities to cross the roads safely

  16. I should also mention that I paid a visit to Al's Cafe last month which was also hosting the BBC Suffolk breakfast show. They were on the road for a week visiting various cafes across the county and this cafe is in Whitton which is an area in Ipswich, Suffolk. (20/02/2026)

P.S The food and drinks were marvellous which was an extra bonus and exceptionally decently priced!

  21. This photo of an #Anglican #priest appears to show a male version of #MegRyan's great "I'll Have What She's Having" scene.

Actually, he's just moving from #Ipswich to #York, and I have no idea why the #BBC thinks that is news ... other than as an opportunity to publish this photo showing The Reverend Tom Mumford apparently having far more pleasure than anyone is supposed to have in a church.

  22. #MetPol have #arrested 20 year old and 15 year old males on suspicion of stirring up the #online "school wars" posts attempting to encourage #violence across high #schools in #London and beyond (I've seen versions of these for #Ipswich schools as well).

I'm unaware of there being any actual confrontations stemming from this online campaign - reality (even when I was a teen and Internet didn't exist) is that teens aren't /that/ inclined to fight merely because they are from different schools, rivalry usually starts off due to competition for girls / territory etc in the physical space which isn't that easy to stir up from 100km away..
