  1. Reeds growing alongside a swampy ditch, somewhere in Norfolk, UK.

I'd love to explore the wetlands here; splashing in the watery ditches and sinking into the mud flats. It's quite public though, so probably not a suitable place for swamp larking.

Also I'd probably upset the local birds who definitely wouldn't be expecting a guy in wellies to squelch past their nests.

One of the joys of #Norfolk, like #Cornwall, is that it always a #destination never a place you pass through.

  4. Shameful but not surprising that #Norfolk has elected the first #Reform Police and Crime Commissioner.

Turnout was just 17%. I did vote despite being run off my feet yesterday with work, end of term assemblies and kid’s parties to arrange and attend.

But I suspect for a lot of people they had no idea there was an election happening.

Reform however clearly have galvanised their voters. We cannot be complacent about any election.

  6. #Reform have declared #Norfolk libraries are no longer allowed displays for #Pride:

“Public buildings funded by Norfolk taxpayers must not be used to advance any political agenda or promote the interests of any campaign group, however well-intentioned,"

But being LGBTQ+ is NOT a political choice.

    Pride ISN’T a campaign, it’s a celebration of identity.

  8. Brown Hare.

A couple of images from my trip to Norfolk back in April.

I really do love being there. Just a shame that Right To Roam isn't a thing...

  10. Heartbreakingly, the heads at Caracol Books in #Norfolk have made the decision to shut down, and are having what looks like a sale on everything they have left in stock, with 50%+ discounts available.

If you happen to be anywhere near there on July 18th, then, and want to get your hands on a wide and thoughtful selection of radical literature at deeply-slashed prices, now’s your chance. Address and contact details in post.

  11. A £47,778 grant from Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund has funded new digital information screens at Sheringham, Cromer, Hoveton & Wroxham and North Walsham stations. Installed following a bid by North Norfolk District Council, the touchscreens are due to go live within two weeks. They will provide information on attractions, events, local businesses, maps and live onward bus departures, helping visitors travel around North #Norfolk more easily. Managed by Visit North Norfolk, the scheme forms part of a wider £140,000 visitor information programme delivered with partners including Norfolk County Council, the Broads Authority and Community Rail Norfolk. Greater Anglia says the project will improve rail and bus connections, support local tourism and businesses, and make journeys simpler for passengers.

  12. Just read that the rescheduled (due to last week’s #heatwave) West #Norfolk council meeting where #Reform proposed to dial back #ClimateAction resulted in a broad and passionate defence of climate policies from councillors across parties.

There are apparently 17 #Conservatives on the council, not one of them voted for #Reform ‘s motion!

  14. given the poor state of the road surface which is clearly visible even in a photo taken from the screen of a #speed detection device, there are valid #RoadSafety reasons not to hoon it round that area (also like most rural areas theres multiple side roads leading to villages with sharp turnings and junctions with limited visibility)
