I best love Common Dace (Leuciscus leuciscus), that most archetypally generic of silvery river #fish, when they are the stars of young #chalkstreams, commandeering the infrequent, clear, sunlit pools, tranquilly to mill about in, showing entitled curiosity towards any large intruder. #fish 2/19

Look at this handsome monster Brown Trout in a glorious sun spun pool of the River Wissey, the biggest of many big #fish I met there Friday before last. King of the River. King of a favourite river.
