  1. *Every window* in #Asian restaurant in #Lowestoft put through by "one angry man" - £20 000 damage and business potentially closed for 4 months.

First time I'm aware of any incident this serious against a single business (in contrast to casual breaking of windows) in the near 20 years I've lived in #Suffolk / East Anglia

Maybe its less of a risk here in #Ipswich due to the towns layout and greater presence of #CCTV - whoever does such things is nicked fairly soon and/or observed by witnesses (which could include the staff of the many Asian grocery stores which open late)

#Police are investigating the incident (not sure how much CCTV Lowestoft has or if its effective, haven't been there for about 10 years)

  2. This could be one of the most easterly cats in the UK. We met it on our way back from Ness Point, #Lowestoft, the most easterly point in the UK.

  3. #Ipswich only made number 5 in the #Turdtowns list for #Suffolk (so was "least worst" town). I was surprised to find #Leiston in there, didn't think it was that bad but have never been there often and have no reason to. Not surprised #Lowestoft came out on top, and I suspect poverty is a big reason (as it loses out even on martime-related employment to #Felixstowe and #Ipswich )

  4. What happens when you wake up with a Banksy on your wall? @BBCNews looks at what happened to two homeowners who experienced exactly that. "Both artworks have been taken off the houses they were painted on — a complex, expensive operation that uses specialist equipment — so they can be sold," writes James Peak, host of Radio 4 podcast "The Banksy Story." "But while the Banksy in Margate is now on the verge of selling for well over £1m, with a sizeable chunk set to go to a domestic violence charity, and with the piece remaining in the town for the foreseeable future, the Banksy up the coast in Lowestoft languishes in a climate-controlled warehouse, costing its owners £3,000 per month."

  5. When might the public expect to what really happened in #Lowestoft on Christmas Day?

No indication that there will be any further investigation or information on a hazardous material leak. This isn’t journalism #EDP #Archant.
