The Science Behind Chakras and Energy Flow
Over the last two decades, references to chakras and chakra healing/balancing have exploded into mainstream culture, capturing the attention of many who seek holistic approaches to well-being. The increasing popularity of these concepts has led to a vast array of resources, workshops, and communities dedicated to exploring chakra work. Meditations, Reiki healings, and yoga practices have sprung up around this concept, allowing Westerners a glimpse of traditional healing practices from the Hindu culture, blending ancient wisdom with modern techniques. As individuals strive for emotional balance, physical health, and spiritual growth, focusing on chakras has inspired a deeper understanding and appreciation of energy systems that influence our lives, encouraging many to incorporate these ideas into their daily routines for a more harmonious existence.
Greater Wellbeing
These practices provide insights into how we relate to ourselves, others, and the greater world around us, allowing us to explore the energetic nature of the universe while deepening our understanding of interconnectedness. By examining the intricate web of relationships that bind us, we nurture our personal growth and the well-being of those around us. This journey of self-discovery touches upon the scientific aspects of how everything we think, feel, or interact with causes subtle shifts in our physical body, as recent research in fields such as psychology and quantum physics is now proving. As we delve deeper into this relationship between mind and matter, we uncover the profound impact our thoughts and emotions have on our health, ultimately fostering a more holistic approach to living harmoniously in alignment with the natural rhythms of existence.
The Chakras
First, let us reexamine the nature of the chakra system as it relates to Hindu culture. The term “Chakra” originates from Sanskrit and means “wheel.” Chakras are energy centers that serve as spinning vortexes in a vertical line through the body, from the spine’s base to the head’s crown. There are seven significant chakras, each linked to various endocrine glands and responsible for energy flow to specific organs, influencing physical and emotional well-being. Each chakra corresponds to a rainbow color—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—and resonates with distinct musical tones at varying frequencies. These centers embody spiritual energy in the physical realm, acting as gateways for the life force known as “Prana.” When balanced and aligned, chakras promote harmony and vitality, while blockages can result in physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. Working with the chakra system can lead to personal transformation and holistic healing, fostering deeper self-awareness and connection to the universe.

Based on their location in the body, chakras correspond to specific states of consciousness, emotional functions, and philosophical constructs, creating a framework for understanding our experiences. The lower chakras govern practical aspects of life, such as survival, stability, and trust, forming a foundation for relationships and aspirations, while the upper chakras connect to higher states of awareness, intuition, and self-manifestation. Together, they provide a body-mind connection that aids personal growth and self-discovery, enriching our understanding of our place in the universe. Nurturing and balancing these energy centers contributes to our health and abilities in navigating life’s challenges with resilience and grace.
Energetic Workings
Let us take a moment to explore the nature of this energetic flow of chakras. The energy from emotional responses to physical stimuli runs along the chakras, creating a dynamic system that “feeds” our cells, tissues, and organs with vital life force. Each chakra plays a unique role in this process, serving as an energy exchange conduit and influencing our physical and emotional well-being. Just as our unseen breath nourishes the body with life-giving oxygen, the unseen energy we create can either nourish or deplete us, shaping our experiences and interactions with the world around us. Understanding this intricate connection between our emotions and energy flow can empower us to cultivate a healthier and more balanced life, as we learn to harness and direct this powerful energy for our benefit and those around us.
Mindful Moment:
Pay attention to your physical responses next time you experience a strong emotion. Did your heart rate increase? Do you feel warmth in certain areas?
This is the emotional energy manifesting as a physical sensation. Prolonged emotional responses such as anxiety can manifest physically as ulcers, headaches, and a host of other ailments, including fatigue and digestive issues. This connection between the mind and body underscores the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Recognizing how our feelings impact our physical state can empower us to seek healthier coping mechanisms. This is why it is essential to be aware of your body’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states; understanding these aspects can lead to a more balanced life and improved wellbeing.
Having balanced, unblocked chakras assists in keeping the rest of the body in balance and promotes overall well-being. When aligned, these energy centers enhance not only physical health but also emotional stability and mental clarity.
The Science of Chakras
Quantum physics offers a fascinating lens through which we can understand the chakra system and its relevance to energy and consciousness. At its core, quantum physics studies the fundamental nature of reality, examining how subatomic particles interact and exist in ways that often defy classical physics. This opens up intriguing possibilities for exploring energetic systems like chakras.
Interconnected
One key concept in quantum physics is that everything is interconnected at a fundamental level. This idea echoes the beliefs surrounding chakras, which propose that energy flows through the body and connects us to the universe. Just as particles can be entangled, influencing one another regardless of distance, energy centers within our bodies can impact our physical, emotional, and spiritual states. This interconnectedness suggests that our thoughts and emotions, which are forms of energy, can manifest in our physical health and well-being.
Mind Over Matter
Moreover, the principle of wave-particle duality in quantum physics posits that particles, such as photons and electrons, can exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties depending on how they are observed. This can relate to chakras in that our perceptions and intentions can influence how energy moves and flows through our bodies. For instance, a positive mindset and balanced emotional state can promote healthy energy flow, while negative thoughts or emotional disturbances might create blockages in our chakras.
Biological Mindfulness
Recent research in quantum biology also indicates that energy transfer at the molecular level can significantly affect biological processes. By understanding how consciousness and thought patterns interact with energy systems, practitioners of chakra healing may be able to harness this knowledge to promote well-being. This connection between quantum physics and chakras provides a scientifically intriguing perspective, enabling us to explore deeper aspects of their existence and embrace holistic approaches to health that align with these energy principles.
Discovering Balance
Quantum physics offers insights into the energetic frameworks that govern our existence, aligning with and enriching our comprehension of the chakra system. By bridging scientific inquiry and spiritual traditions, we are encouraged to embrace the potential for personal transformation and healing at physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. But you do not need to have a background in science to experience the benefits of chakra healing. By simply tuning into your body with daily practice, you become more familiar with your unique energetic blueprint, discovering how each chakra influences your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. As you engage in this practice more consistently, you may find that you can easily identify areas where energy may be blocked or imbalanced, allowing you to address these concerns in a mindful way. This self-exploration enhances your understanding of your energy and fosters a deeper connection to the world around you, empowering you to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Chakra Balancing Course
Learn more with a guided 10-day Chakra Balancing course thoughtfully designed to enhance your understanding and practice of energy healing. Throughout this comprehensive program, you will discover the distinct characteristics of the seven primary chakras, delving into their unique qualities, colors, and influences on our physical and emotional well-being. This knowledge will empower you to tap into their energy in a way that promotes healing and balance, ultimately leading to a more harmonious daily life.
In today’s fast-paced world, our current lifestyle often causes us to lose touch with our natural selves and the energy flows within our bodies. Cap 3000 a Valhalla blinding consumers
On my last day at the Cote d’Azur I at our walk in Saint Laurant du Var we also went walking in a huge shopping centre Cap 3000, opposite the airport Nice Cote d’Azur.
“Valhalla” (1905) by Emil Doeplera veritable institution at the heart of the French Riviera: a shopping mall in a fabulous location, standing on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Located on the western edge of Nice, right next to the international airport
It offers an attractive and diversified range of shops for all the family, from major high-street names to small boutiques. There’s something for all tastes and all budgets! You can meander through the mall until 9pm from Monday to Saturday
At the moment it has 180 shops in a magnificent building, which is being made to a much bigger place, with an additional two floors full of shops. When walking through the beautiful shopping mall I felt in the Walhalla of mankind or Valhalla, a splendid palace, roofed with shields, where the warriors feast on the flesh of a boar slaughtered daily and made whole again each evening. They drink liquor that flows from the udders of a goat, and their sport is to fight one another every day. It is the grand place for lust and indulgence, where today is not thought of the Ragnarök or Doomsday.
So many people have to work hard for the wages they might get, but here it looks like all those walking around have enough money to spend for hours in hundreds of attracting shops.
For sure all those people seem to trust in all those things or gadgets beautifully presented in those places which cry to come in and feel as if you can be the honourable guest of fortune.
Having walked through that “Palace of abundance” or better “superabundance” I could not resist looking at a lot of people who have their heart sold to all those material products but have no eye for what can not be seen.
At the Biblestudents you can read how Jesus fed many people and shall be able to read (from 2018, October 19) about Jesus who once more was concerned about real hungry people (Matthew 15:32-39 – The Nazarene’s Commentary: 4000 Fed). There too there was a material problem, food or something for the stomach. Though in the gospels we also receive the lesson for more important food, whereof not many seem to think about today. Most people are not hungering for the right things (James 4:3). Their eyes and heart are focused on the material things of this world. Consumption has become the new god today, after we had money as the new god entering our world from the golden 1960ies. Money and consumption are the male and female god who feel very nice together and who have a better marriage than most couples today. They are namely a very jealous couple which like to get people to want for more and more all the time, getting them into a state of never feeling to have enough.
The Mammon or god of this world has the Dollars and Euros flying in the air, many people jumping up to catch them, for soon going to spend them, often on things they really do not need or which pollute our world further. (Think of all those capsules of Nespresso for example.)
What is most important for many today is that they can enjoy their life with as many gadgets and handy tools as possible. Many go about their lives feeding on the thoughts of their own mind and of their greed. Anxieties, worries, and cares of this life creep in and rob us of the One Who Looks at this world and can see how man does not really want to see Who and what is important for their life and future. I wondered how many would feel His abiding presence.
If we feed on sports, worldly entertainment, social media, material wealth, creature comforts and trivia, is it no wonder that we hunger for those things rather than the things of God?
These days in the Provence I could enjoy beautiful countrysides, lovely small villages, like Tourettes sur Loup, Saint Paul de Vence, etc. and the lovely city Nice where like in many French places people did not take away their dog droppings. In those bigger places we could see many clustered at their phone or walking like they do not like the day, or are taken away from the world by the music from their earphones. Feeding themselves with worldly entertainment, social media, material wealth, creature comforts and trivia.
Clearly we could feel to be in a world where the hunger was or is on other things than the spiritual, though we encountered many Buddha sculptures and yoga places.
Wherever we look around us we can see that in this world many have grown cold by feasting on the things of the flesh and therefore no longer hunger for God. Lots of people love to be filled, but are focussing on things which pass or have limited value. They are filled with worldliness and are thus deceived into being comfortable and contented (Rev. 3:17-18).
When we see how at several occasions Jesus took care for the people around him, we notice how God was with Jesus and provided enough food for the crowd. Throughout history of mankind we can find examples where God was with His people and took care of them.
We should not be afraid. Even when we have not a filled purse, God shall take care that we would be able to manage. His Word and His blessings shall provide for those things we really need in life.
At all times we should not forget that He is the Maker and Provider, the Rock and our Protector. When people “rend their hearts” and turn back to God (Joel 2:13) God shall receive them with open arms. As any Father would do, He shall look for the best of His children. But as any Father He also would like to be recognised and respected as Father.
We must seek Jehovah God for who He is and not what He can provide. As we devote ourselves to prayer and His word, we will begin to sense His presence and draw near to Him.
From the gospels we learn that God provided a man,who not only could speak in the name of God but also act in the name of God. By believing in that sent one from God, as the scripture says, will have rivers of living water flowing from his inmost heart. (John 7:38) If much more people would know the generosity of God and who Jesus is, they would be feeling much better and would appreciate others with the same fate with the knowledge or certitude that together they can count on Jesus giving us fresh, living water, so that we should not be thirsty any more. Because the water Jesus gives will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life. (John 4:10; John 4:14) Therefore let us look for a better meal than the one offered by all those consumer needy tents. Let us remember that Jesus said,
“I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever.
(John 6:35)++

Waning Moon
Pluto Retrograde
Cloudy and hard frost
It’s Friday, yay! So pleased about that.
I was out the door yesterday right after breakfast to the grocery store. Did the big early-in-the-month shop, getting things for the week’s meal plan, replacing staples, and a little shopping for the apocalypse. This weekend, I need to rearrange a couple of shelves in the pantry, and maybe crate a few things to store elsewhere in the house. I tend to keep a well-stocked pantry anyway, and I’m just building us a bit of a buffer. In general, I replace what I use to keep the pantry stocked, and then, here and there, I’ve been tossing in a couple of extra staples.
I got my mother’s favorite cheesecake because it’s Mother’s Day this weekend.
The CSA starts next Wednesday, and will be every other week until the day before I go into the residency in October. Picking up the CSA on Wednesdays means I can meal plan and do the rest of the shopping on Thursdays, except for what I’ll get at the Farmers’ Market on Saturdays (and I probably won’t go every Saturday, although I do want to get eggs from my favorite egg vendor as often as possible). That should keep us fresh and balanced throughout the week, with only basics from the actual grocery store most weeks. In general, I’ve found Thursday an easier shopping day for what’s in the store than Fridays around here.
Ran another errand after the grocery, then up to the library, where I dropped off a few books and picked up a big old stack! Hauled everything home, up the stairs, and put it away. Paged through some of the books. I got a bunch of cookbooks, and there are two, in particular, that have a lot of recipes I want to try. I love test driving cookbooks from the library. If I really like a cookbook, I’ll make a few recipes from it and see how they work. If they do and I like more than 10 recipes in a cookbook, I’ll usually hunt down a copy to own.
I realized I dropped the ball on marketing on Wednesday, because I was so deep into the ghostwriting. I did Wednesday and Thursday’s marketing, then joined the Freelance Friends chat, which was fun.
After lunch, I finished the literary committee work and got it back to the committee chair, so she can do what she needs to do for our next meeting. Then, I switched over to the ghostwriting.
The meeting I thought I had yesterday evening was moved to next week, when I have another commitment, so I don’t have to worry about it.
Dinner, read a bit, noodled with some ideas for some things. The table that went splat really did splat – three of the four legs came out of their joints. They fasten with screws, and aren’t twisting back in, so I think I will just position them and then glue them. A task for the weekend. Nothing that was on the table broke, thank goodness.
Up early, got my yoga and morning meditation done before I hauled out two loads of laundry to the car and went to the laundromat. I had to scrape frost of my car. Once again, I hadn’t worn a coat, which was not the smart choice. Oh, well.
I will have an extra load of laundry for the next few weeks, while I catch up on getting the winter furniture covers, the quilts, blankets, etc. washed from the season and put away. Although with another hard frost today, I don’t want to be too hasty on those quilts.
Two loads of laundry through, and I managed to screech around the corner before the construction crew closed off the bottom of our street again. I’m so sick and tired of the lack of communication.
While the laundry was running, I started reading BACK THEN, the joint memoir by Anne Bernays and Justin Kaplan. When I re-read the book of NY TIMES essays by writers, one of the ones I liked a lot was by Anne Bernays. I then read TROPHY HOUSE, her novel set on Cape Cod, which I enjoyed, and I have PROFESSOR ROMEO in my TBR pile from the library. Not only do I enjoy the writing in this memoir, it contains a lot of details that are useful in the Milly section of my play I WILL BE DIFFERENT. Enjoyment and useful research – gotta love it.
The plan for today is doing my 15-minute free write, working on BETTING MAN, and then the ghostwriting. Somewhere in there, I will fold the laundry and put it away, and empty the big bag of dry cat food into the smaller, more workable jars. Over the weekend, I plan to celebrate my mom, do the weekend housework, some ironing, and maybe some sewing. I will probably do some work on BETTING MAN, too. If I can figure out what I want to do for the extended anthology call, I may do a first draft of that as well.
Have a great weekend, and we’ll catch up next week!

Rolling out a yoga mat and flowing with your breath may just be one of the best ways to improve your sleep in the long run. A meta-analysis of 30 randomized controlled trials found that regular, high intensity yoga outperformed walking, resistance training, combination workouts, aerobic exercise, and even traditional practices like tai chi and qigong when it came to improving sleep for people of all ages with sleep struggles.
The takeaway? Inhale calm, exhale stress and drift into more restful, restorative sleep naturally.#yoga #sleep #wellbeing #mindbody #health

TO START I HAVE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE PEOPLE INTRESTED.Hello!
i´m not doing new workouts online lately as all the big stress from several previous months and the grief completely kicked me off. I don´t feel good psychologically and physically.
I know I´m not the only one dealing with stress, depression and grief at these times..
There are two things I also know - falling apart is not a solution and during a workout I can disconnect from all the external world and all the problems.
Probably not during relaxing sessions, but the ones where you have to work and concentrate..
So no relaxing sessions. Nothing restorative. just something that will pump all the thoughts out..
As I have not been training enough for half a year I feel myself on the beginner level. so I decided it´s time to make a workout plan for beginners, for a month. with additional options for all levels.
Something like 3 or 4 short online sessions per week, approximately 20-minutes each of strength training, yoga and stretching.
Motivation and finding a wish to start is the hardest thing.Would somebody else would like to join? to start strength and flexibility training from a scratch? Let me know, please. This would be the motivation for me.
.
What would you get?1 - Body balance and stability:
- legs: coordination and balance (for the kicks if you´re into martial arts)
- arms: strong wrists (for the safe punches if - you know)2 - Stretching and flexibility:
- feeling younger by getting more mobility
- high kicks + splits3 - Strength:
- core + back health
- better body relief
- everyday life energyAnd the most important - during a workout you leave the outer world outside!
.
.
the main goal of a workout is to forget all the shit and enjoy.
even if you´re cursing every minute of it.
the more you curse - the less shit left

Thousands of runners bounced at the starting line, I stood still with my eyes closed, breathing.
Yoga taught me how to run.

“Your disabilities are your fault! Try harder! Eat better! Do yoga! Don’t mask! Care about health!”
We’ve heard it ALL. You can’t “healthy living” your way out of disabilities. Many are born disabled.
Folks who “don’t do sick” are rejecting reality & their ableism harms us.
More and more I think people say these things because they desperately NEED to believe that their healthy lifestyle will ensure they don’t end up “like us.”
Disabled people are so disliked and mistreated in society - that people fear becoming us and lash out as a result.
More on the “don’t do sick” crowd - including how we’re frequently expected to hide our disabilities so as not to inconvenience others.
Never forget that it’s ok to set (and hold) boundaries. Never apologize for being sick!

today i'm going with my friend who I taught tennis last year (which means the last time I played was then).
Despite me being in good shape to play this game, I always find it challenging to return to the sport after a short break.
Prior to 2022, I always play year-round just to keep my skills current. I can outrun guys younger than me because I keep myself in good shape with fitness outside of tennis and drills on the tennis court.
Then, life got busier so since 2023, I skipped a year of tennis (prioritizing training in the gym with weights, outside with walks and jogs, and doing yoga or dance in the studio).
2024, I was thrown into an emotional year from family/friends unexpectedly passing away and i lost some motivation to consistently workout. I have maintained my fitness thru yoga and meditation, learning more about pranayama (breathing) and grounding exercises.
I played maybe 2-3x in 2024 so this year, I would love to play more tennis.

Waning Moon
Sunny and cold
Friday! I’m excited for the weekend. Even though I have taxes, I’m hoping to get a lot of sleep in.
I was actually in the flow enough so I could get some work done on BETTING MAN before the online meditation group (I’d done my own morning yoga, meditation, and free write session already, with the moon smiling down on me). That felt good, to finally get past the chapter with which I’ve been wrestling for far too long.
Charlotte was delighted with online meditation. It’s her favorite part of the week.
After meditation and breakfast, I headed off to the grocery store for a light grocery shop, and then ran another errand before swinging by the library for a drop-off/pick-up.
Home in time for #FreelanceFriends, which was fun. I got a little bit of work done on the ghostwriting, but also did my federal taxes. I started the state, but that form is intentionally nonsensical, and I was too tired to focus on it. I got some planting done, so that was good.
Annoyed, but not surprised that Amazon is cutting off service to their older Kindles. My Fire is from, I think, 2014 or 2015, so maybe I can use it for another year or two. I won’t get another Kindle when they cut me off. I may get some other kind of tablet, and just have a Kindle app on it, although I’m sure, eventually, they will end that and only let Kindle books be read on their own devices. And then I will get my ebooks elsewhere.
And people wonder why I refuse to do KDP, either as an author or a reader.
My Llewellyn editor asked me to be a part of the 2028 Witches’ Companion, so I will form the ideas I’ve been playing with into something cohesive and send them early next week. I usually send her two or three ideas, and she picks the one she feels will work best in context.
I got my act together, put on Real People Pants, and walked up to the library for the Trustees meeting. It was a lovely spring evening, and definitely worth walking. However, not enough Trustees showed up to actually have the meeting, so it was canceled, although we didn’t mind having a half hour just to hang out and chat.
Walked home, and got to play with a lot of dogs out on their evening walks. I don’t know the names of many people in the extended neighborhood, but I know the dogs, and they all know me and are always so happy to see me. I got to read on the porch for a bit, and then had the online library cohort meeting (Charlotte, once again, was delighted). We are a good group, and even scattered all over the country as we are, we have cohesion.
It took me a bit to settle down after the meeting, and I slept reasonably well. I was up early this morning, fed everyone, and hauled the laundry to the laundromat. There were other people there this morning, but we all hung out in our own cars as things washed and dried, and were pleasant in passing as we switched machines, so it was fine.
Home, and did the freewrite session, trying to work out one of the pieces that’s on deadline at the end of the month. It’s a short piece, but sometimes those are harder to pin down.
I will do my yoga and meditation at the end of the day today, rather than in the morning. Tessa gets annoyed when I change up the routine, and she hates it that I don’t go to the laundromat on the same day every week so she can plan, but hey, life is hard.
On today’s agenda: folding and putting away laundry (which I will do as soon as I post this), working on BETTING MAN, working on the ghostwriting, working on my Llewellyn pitches, contacting my elected officials, working on taxes, doing some more planting.
Tomorrow should be a fairly quiet day, except for housework and taxes and contest entries. Sunday, a colleague at the gallery is doing an event in the afternoon, so I will go down for that. I hope to get in some work on BETTING MAN, and maybe on the two pieces on deadline. If the light is good, maybe I can sew a little, too.
The next few weeks ramp up as far as commitments go, so I have to pace myself. The ghostwriting deadlines will tighten over that time, too, so I’m also trying to leave myself enough thinking time.
Have a great weekend, and we’ll catch up on the other side.
