A local artist, Elyse Doyle-Martinez, painted the board a rainbow before most people had heard there'd been a crime. Making art in the moment as a response is what she said she always wants to do.
Then the store cut a check to Elevate Queer Yolo and the Davis Phoenix Coalition, and told the vandal the money came as a direct result of his hate.
