Only the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened:
Somebody took my elevator, figured out they took it from me, and apologized before the doors closed!
This time, they were looking back and forth, at the "L" sign meaning "lobby" and then at me, who had gotten off on *their* floor when they got on. I finally said "I won't share" and they said "Oh, sorry" as the door closed.

OMG. I don't think I've heard a clearer example of this. Tragic for your relative, and for us.
This explains why so many in nursing and doctors offices became complacent about protections.
I think about this kind of impact often. These people have a compromised decision making ability. And they're driving the car next to me on the highway. Or, oh,God, voting. Truly frightening. -

I was getting out of my car yesterday about 6 miles from a recently active wildfire. AQI 150 with visibly poor air.
An older woman nearby indicated my mask. “That’s not a bad idea!”
We exchanged a few more sentences before she sat down on a bench and lit up a cigarette.
In her defense, the cigarette did have a filter. 🤷🏻♀️

@HopelessDemigod agree it would help.
And I will add for anyone reading this, even if you don’t have the simple things at hand to build a Corsi-Rosenthal box, know that an N95 mask works well with smoke, too. I got a lot of relief this afternoon even with the windows open. Eyes still watered but the pain in the chest from smoke inhalation went away. Plus you can wear a mask out of the house.

If you wear certified N95/KN95s daily, do you have a favorite brand that comes in black? Bonus points if they have adjustable ear loops.
I have been buying from Maskc for years and am gonna reorder if there isn’t a better alternative.
