Данная статья — это своего рода продолжение Верификация цифровых схем. Обзор. . В ней хотелось показать некоторые типы тестовых окружений для функциональной верификации и особенности работы с ними. Хотя у каждой компании/проекта есть свой маршрут функциональной верификации, возникший в определённых обстоятельствах — порождение опыта, ошибок и обстоятельств, — не всегда применяемые там решения являются предметом гордости. И если вам случилась такая удача — разработать новое тестовое окружение или переработать существующее, — данный материал может подтолкнуть в сторону оптимального варианта в некоторых случаях. Может, и не подтолкнуть… или подтолкнуть не туда... Хочу обратить внимание на слово функциональный : в данной статье я не буду затрагивать формальную верификацию и эмуляцию , т.к. эти темы довольно большие сами по себе.

What a Weekend

We are home. Graduation weekend is over. Two things happened. One, my step son graduated from UVM and that is amazing and he is amazing and its all amazing. Two, rain. Constant, never ending, drowning, soaking rain. The whole time. Rain sucks.

Graduation Day

Today is the day! My step son graduates from the University of Vermont! I am so excited, I am so proud, I am just standing here beside myself with glee right now!

Two years ago we sat in the crowd together watching his sister graduate from UVM and now today it’s his turn. He starts grad school in the fall so his academic career isn’t over yet, but let’s not think about that today. Let’s just focus on what a fantastic achievement this is and let’s all just shower him with praise and love and congratulations.

Big Event This Weekend

There is a big deal happening this weekend. It’s been four years in the making. I guess technically it has been 22 years in the making but it’s the last four that really count.

My step son, Harry, is graduating from college! The University of Vermont’s commencement weekend festivities kick off tomorrow and I am so proud of Harry that I legitimately fear that I am going to spontaneously combust. Like, ka-boom and stuff. He has grown up to be such a fine human. Brilliant, kind, a deep seated hatred of donald trump the orange shit clown. He’s a far better man than I am, and this weekend is all about him. A Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Good work, Harry!

We’re heading up to Vermont as soon as I punch out of work tonight. I can’t wait to spend the weekend celebrating Harry and his accomplishment. It’s going to be a great time… even though… the forecast is calling for rain during the Sunday morning outdoor commencement ceremony. That might suck. Everything else though, I can’t wait!

Армения посреди Америки, Китая и России: отчет с EDA Connect 2025

Мысль, что Армения удобна тем, что соединяется и с Америкой, и с Китаем - высказал мне один из китайских участников конференции EDA Connect . А мысль, что Армения соединяется еще и с Россией - возникала естественно при просмотре докладов о логическом синтезаторе, статическом анализаторе и верификации с помощью UVM. Помимо докладов, при конференции прошел хакатон по Verilog и FPGA , на который пришли студенты из Ереванского университета, русско-армянского университета, американо-армянского, французско-армянского, европейско-армянского, и других университетов. Занятно, что второй день хакатона проходил в комнате напротив зала, где большое начальство встречалось с Премьер-Министром Армении. Один из студентов хакатона перепутал дверь, и его перенаправила секьюрити.

Zusammengefasst haben wir heute in Deutschland also ein legales Streamingangebot, das so fragmentiert ist, dass man auch mit mehreren Abos nicht alles zu sehen bekommt, was man möchte, weil Titel nur bei Spartendiensten oder nirgendwo erhältlich sind. Ein Angebot, wo nichts auf Dauer sicher verfügbar ist. Wo man froh ist, wenn das smarte Fernsehgerät alle abonnierten Dienste unterstützt und man „nur“ in den verschiedenen Angeboten mit völlig unterschiedlichen Oberflächen selbst nach spannenden Inhalten suchen muss. Eine Streaminglandschaft, in der man akzeptieren muss, sein Abo bei Netflix und Disney+ nicht jederzeit an jedem Ort nutzen zu können, obwohl man gar nicht auf die Idee gekommen ist, seine Zugangsdaten zu teilen. Und bei dem man horrende monatliche Gebühren bezahlt oder sich mit nerviger Reklame zuballern lässt und eventuell auch noch auf beste Bild- und Tonqualität verzichten muss.

Well after 14 years I'm laid off from Viavi. This has been a particular nightmare for me for 14 years since I was a victim of the 2008 financial meltdown and laid off then and couldn't find work for all of 2009. It was rough.

But anyway, locally fantastic staff and great people to work with. Higher management, no comment as I am negatively biased. We made some cool stuff and I will miss seeing how my current baby will turn out.

Anyhow I don't really know how far this might go, but if someone is looking for a #EE with 25 years experience in digital design primarily with #FPGA and #VHDL (and a smattering of #Verilog), including verification mainly using #OSVVM and #UVVM (the latter modeled after #UVM) please contact me, especially if you can support remote work. I do have a professional office at home, it can be YOURS (along with me of course).
