That's #term #limits with #preparatory and required #civics #education and #TESTING and a very robust #Impeachment process. Performance is a requirement of service. Non-performance gets the boot. You have no idea how kind that crazy people can be to each other until you meet them in #Recovery.

You damn right I want to get leverage against anybody that's trying to get power. I'm tired of people thinking they need to have power instead of be a #public #servant. We need people with enough perspective to understand their role. We need #Civics education in the schools. #Testing AND #Elections.

Last week mayor pro tem Engler and I attended the National League of Cities summer conference in Louisville, KY, featuring seminars on public safety, energy and the environment, and maintaining civility in divisive times. Here I join city leaders from around the country on a tour of the Louisville Water Co., which has 100+ years of disaster recovery experience.

These conferences aren’t just educational; they also help connect us with tens of millions in grant funding. And by banding together, NLC member cities successfully lobby for federal legislation that protects our interests (for example, by shielding cities from liability for PFAS/PFOS “forever chemicals” dumped by others).
