  1. Baghaei: The lies of the US Secretary of State regarding Iran's intervention in the Yemen-Saudi Arabia issue cannot replace the facts.

    The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the baseless claim by the US Secretary of State regarding Iran's intervention in the Yemen issue, wrote:
    🔹Marco Rubio's lies cannot replace reality. Ansar Allah is an independent actor that makes its own decisions; it neither takes orders from anyone nor is it a proxy for others.
    🔹The root of instability in the region should be sought in US military interventions and its hegemonic policies. If Washington truly desired peace, it would take only one simple step: end its malevolence and destabilizing interventions in our region.
    🔹Peace in Yemen will not be achieved with bombs and foreign pressure. Peace begins with sincere negotiations based on a roadmap agreed upon by the parties.

  6. According to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization, the #ebola epidemic, given its rapid rise, could surpass the West African Ebola outbreak of 2014–2016. Some 11,000 people died at the time.

    "The epidemic is spreading widely. It's now covering an area that is bigger than France," UN senior Ebola coordinator Julien Harneis told journalists, adding that half of the 2,500 deaths had been reported in the last 20 days alone.
    "It is growing faster and wider than the Ebola response."
    He stressed that aid funding and the delivery of resources to remote areas needed to be urgently ramped up to slow and eventually stop the virus's transmission.
    "If we do not... then this epidemic will become more deadly. It will spread wider and it risks to spread into neighboring countries," Harneis added.

  24. The Law Is a Blunt Instrument by Lawson Akhigbe

    In the fearful months and years following the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, Western democracies faced an unenviable dilemma. Their citizens demanded protection from an enemy that recognised no borders, wore no uniforms and deliberately targeted civilians.

  25. The Confederate Question Never Closed

    An old professor's epigram, tested against the monuments, the forts, the flag, a Supreme Court ruling from this spring, and the counterfeit history of emancipation now spreading online. An old history professor of mine once offered a sentence that has outlasted most of what I learned in his classroom. The South lost the battle, he said, and won the war. He meant that the Confederacy was more alive in the present than it had been on the April morning when Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox. The claim sounded like provocation at the time. It reads now like a weather report. Army forts carry the names of men who took up arms against the United States. The Supreme Court has just rewritten the rules that protected Black voters in the states most determined to suppress them. A battle flag the rebel armies never managed to carry into Washington was paraded through the Capitol in 2021. My professor's epigram deserves a hearing, and it deserves a harder examination than its admirers usually give it, because one half of it is true in a way that should alarm anyone who wants a working democracy, and the other half is false in a way that can disarm the people who would defend one. 32.

    Именно понимание ситуации вынудит большинство офицеров покинуть позиции и скрыться. Часть из них примкнёт к народным восстаниям, чтобы добыть индульгенции. Часть побежит на север. Остальные покинут города в сторону провинции. Это расколет страну на восставшие города и религиозную провинцию, что создаст основу будущей гражданской войны в шиитском мире, да и в исламе в целом.

    Такий сценарій виглядає логічним з точки зору військово-політичної динаміки, але він має кілька критичних умов.

    По-перше, ліквідація верхівки влади — навіть якщо йдеться про аятоллу, керівництво армії та КСІР — сама по собі не гарантує миттєвого розпаду системи. Іранська держава десятиліттями будувала паралельні контури управління: регулярна армія, КСІР, спецслужби, релігійні структури та мережі губернаторів-клериків. Це створює запас стійкості. Однак одночасне знищення командних центрів і ППО дійсно означало б дуже глибоке проникнення розвідки і підготовку операції високого рівня.

    По-друге, питання лояльності офіцерського корпусу. У системах типу іранської ідеологічна відданість концентрується у вузькому ядрі, тоді як значна частина офіцерів діє прагматично — орієнтуючись на виживання, кар’єру і баланс сил. У випадку різкого обвалу вертикалі управління можливі три типові реакції:

    пасивна демобілізація (офіцери просто зникають із позицій);

    перехід на сторону локальної влади або протестів;

    формування регіональних сил самооборони під контролем місцевих еліт.

    По-третє, географія Ірану. Країна має дуже різнорідну структуру регіонів: великі мегаполіси (Тегеран, Ісфахан, Шираз), периферійні етнічні райони (курдські, белуджські, азербайджанські території) та консервативні релігійні центри. Якщо центральна влада слабшає, міста і провінція починають рухатися різними політичними траєкторіями.

    Тому більш імовірна не миттєва громадянська війна, а етап фрагментації влади:

    1. параліч центрального командування;

    2. локальні повстання в містах;

    3. боротьба різних фракцій КСІР та духовенства;

    4. поступове формування декількох центрів сили.

    Якщо цей процес зайде далеко, конфлікт справді може вийти за межі Ірану і перетворитися на ширший шиїтський внутрішній конфлікт, оскільки іранська мережа союзників (Ірак, Ліван, Сирія, Ємен) тісно інтегрована в одну ідеологічну систему.

    Коротко:
    ліквідація керівництва — це не фінал режиму, а тригер довгого періоду хаотичної перебудови, який може завершитися або новим військово-релігійним режимом, або масштабною регіональною дестабілізацією.
