  1. This is what we do in America. We PAUSE, we FORGET. then we BEGIN THE NEXT WAR. The United States is not over it, fighting the same war in different iterations since Vietnam.

  9. Meanwhile, in the #SouthChinaSea, the #PRC is cementing its hold on the #NineDashLine now known as the #TenDashLine —apparently an increase in the #Chinese claims of #Sovereignty over numerous #Shoals, #Reefs, #Lagoons and #Atolls mostly in other nations’ internationally recognised #ExclusiveEconomicZones. The #PLA base building is as impressive as it looks threatening. China (or whatever counts as its historical nationhood) has never had second thoughts when it comes to enlarging its territory at the expense of other sovereign nations (it even took on #Vietnam… and got a bloody nose out of it :)

That most of the international community and the self-appointed #Sheriff of the free world have condemned this aggressive expansion of Chinese territoriality makes no difference. We are all passively contemplating China’s ever growing offensive military capability (Q. To what ends?) knowing full well that nothing but a major confrontation will put a break on it. The juggernaut has awakened and we are powerless to stop it. When China runs out of sand to reclaim land, as it surely will, where will it expand next? Is war with China an inevitable otcome of all this build-up? I think I’ll start learning mandarin.

“Beijing’s land grab in the South China Sea shows no signs of slowing down, and Antelope Reef marks the latest in a decades-long string of island seizures that it can leverage during a potential dustup in the future. But whether it will eventually run out of islands to claim remains unclear. “China doesn’t have a lot left to dig,” according to Poling, “so unless China plans to seize another island, I don’t see it building anything, at least anything substantial.” (Source: TWZ)
